Funny As H*LL!!!
The Quirky Riley Thorn Series Did Not Hit "The Sophomore Slump," With This Offering! It is best if you read book one: Riley Thorn And The Dead Guy Next Door, before diving into this one. That will help fill in more of the backstory, though the author does provide some. This one was better than the first, and a good way to continue building the psychic detective's world. The clever way Score's imagination weaves absurdity with the plausible, is unique. The story is fun, the characters endearing, and the reader is never bored! You want to see what off beat adventure Riley, Nick, and their geriatric motley crew find themselves in next!

fantastic all around
This book has me laughing, anxious, intrigued, and rooting for the characters. Everything feels so relatable, with main character humanity shown without being obnoxious. Often, FMCs and their romantic interests have horrendous character flaws that detract from enjoying a book, but not here! This is a refreshing read for the healthy balance of communication and growth in all the interactions between Riley and others in the story.I recommend to anyone who enjoys a little mystery, humor, friendship, and romance with a dash of family dysfunction.

What a Wild Ride - Part 2!!!
The best part about being late to the Riley Thorn party is that I had both books in my hand at the same time! I didn't have to wait to jump into book 2 after finishing book 1! Hard to believe, but The Corpse in the Closet was just as great as The Dead Guy Next Door!!! The plot was captivating, the characters just as amazing as before with some fantastic additions, and the twists were perfect to the plot!!! I laughed so much in some areas that my husband was a little worried about me!!!Riley is trying to get her head around her gifts better then she previously has and her grandmother has come to visit to help her along the way. Elanora is a scary character when you first meet her, and no one is happy to see her. I was kinda getting used to her personality then someone referred to her as "Stevie Nicks mother" and I lost it!!!Nick has realized he loves Riley and is in panic mode about losing her! His fear is palpable through his actions! I really felt bad for him but he dug his own grave by not talking to Riley about his panic. Of course, watching a madman try to drown your girlfriend will leave scars.Well, Nick's panic reaches new heights when Weber asks for Riley's help with a murder investigation. This leads to all sorts of fun!!! And we find out Mrs. Penny is working for Nick by trailing Riley. We see what Elanora does to the family trying to get them to use their gifts correctly! And Nick has missing persons cases of his own.The usual characters are still around and getting into more trouble then ever!! And Fred flirting with Grandma Elanora is hilarious!!! Burt the farting dog is wonderful! OMG, we meet Nick's family and it is the most amazing family dinner I've ever been to!!! He said his family was weirder then Riley's and I had my doubts, but he was right!!! That had to be one of my favorite chapters! Of course, there are the characters you love to hate, with good reason. Griffin and Bella are still around and still awful! This book was absolutely amazing!! I can't express how wonderful it was with words! It deserves a thousand stars and I can't wait for more from Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago!!!! And I need to know about Beth!!!

Great second book in this hilarious series!
I dove into this as soon as I finished the first book in the series, Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door. The story picked right up. I would recommend reading them in order. We get more of Riley and Nick and their roommates, friends, and family. If possible, I laughed more during this one. We also get some new characters, like Riley's grandmother, a medium who has come to help train Riley and encourage her total her psychic gifts more seriously. We also meet Nick's parents. Along with all of the great characters, humor, and dialogue, there's a number of cases to be solved and some danger to be avoided.I flew through this and jumped right into the third one. I am recovering from wrist surgery and this was the perfect series to read- fun, funny, engaging, and enjoyable.Read this if you like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. It also reminded me of Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series. Fun characters, great dialogue, lots of humor and connection, and a mystery or two to solve. Thanks to the publisher for sharing a copy with me. All opinions are my own.
