Great pot for tamales
Good pot for the price. I used this for tamales and was able to fit about 80 tamales from just the bottom section of the pit. The pot itself is good quality, perfect size and color.

Nice steamer pot
This is a great steamer pot, fits roughly 5 dozen tamales depending on how much masa and filing you use in your husks. The lid fits tightly reducing how much steam is lost through the top, but the handle to the lid really conducts heat and gets hot in less than 30 minutes of use. Steamer plate is easy to remove and install making this an easy pot to clean. The steamer plate sits just over an inch from the bottom of the pot, giving around an hour and a half of steam if you leave the lid on the pot and turn the heat down when it starts boiling.

Great product, but also GREAT BIG product!
Had a big family party coming up; husband promised them all a pile of his family-favorite ribs - the ones he used to make for us all when we, for 13 years, shared a huge rental on the Outer Banks. Shortly before the party, we were at a local hangout discussing plans and had a key realization: we were no longer in a rental at the beach - where the huge seafood steamer in the pantry would come into service to steam the huge pile of ribs prior to them being cooked low and slow....OOPS! So, being at the time, at a bar rather than a mall, I did the natural thing: I pulled out my phone and checked Amazon. We had options, so I showed the photo of the first one to my husband. He said, "I want that." The price seemed pretty reasonable, so I clicked though and ordered it. Not until it arrive on our front porch did I realize how gigantic this thing is -- never thought to check the dimensions -- and you can see in the photo that it pretty much took over the top of our stove. But it proved to be ideal for the job and it's well-made and cleaned easily (we had to wash it out in our laundry tub) so we're learning to love it. But we haven't resolved the challenge of finding a place to store it, but would work pretty well as a side table....

Good for making tamales
I bought this to make homemade tamales, and I like it due to the size and that I can fit many tamales in at one time. The quality of the metal is good and it's nice and sturdy. My only issue is that it did not sit level on my stove top. Maybe it's just a defect in the metal but it was bubbled out until I heated the metal and then it somehow flattened itself out. It does not clean well as far as the inner pot and if you burn water in there for too long, but otherwise it's an easy cleanup and easy to put away in store. In a pinch, this would be a good buy
