I'm impressed with how good these toolboxes were, considering how little they cost. The latches are rock solid, and when you open one, the lid pops up with authority. They are seriously water tight too. I needed a way to soak some large parts in solvent, and I couldn't think of a better idea, so I filled one of these toolboxes with Purple Power and hot water, then soaked and scrubbed my parts. As it happened, I forgot about the parts, and then winter happened. The toolbox sat for three months full of purple greasy ice and car parts. I thawed it out, cleaned it out, and it's no worse for the abuse. These are good toolboxes!

I ordered four of these boxes and could not be happier. They were built to just the right weight for my uses, storing tools and camping gear in my truck. Some might wish them to be thicker, but then they would also weigh a ton. I like that the lids pop open fast with the gas struts. The lids are reinforced a bit to keep them from bending in when sitting on them. That said, over time they probably would cave in a bit if you are heavy. I added some light plywood to the lid top to make a sturdy seat.

Great quality box very sturdy very nice paint and extremely strong struts for the lid. However, the box is shipped in is only protected on the corners other than that no real packaging within the shipment box. Mine arrived with a small dent. To make this box weatherproof you can add some gasket material to the lid very easily.

Just anchored this to my jeep using rivets. Fits in the trunk of my jeep xj perfectly. The hydraulic system works great. And the lock mechanism is well made, they used lock tight around the bolts and it’s constructed well. The aluminum is not extremely heavy duty but you’re pay $100 it’s good enough for what I need it for.

Very good box. Yes its small but is holds everything i need in it. The latch clicks firm when you shit it and the lock works good. Came with 2 keys. There is no seal so when it rains water probably would get in it.

This is a great storage box for the front of our Little Guy 5-Wide teardrop camper. I removed the camper's heavy shelf and replaced it with this box. I drilled through the box and into the steel trailer frame with some Hillman self-drilling screws from the local big box store. I used 6 screws and fender washers. It seems securely mounted and difficult for a thief to remove.The box is not very heavy, which is good for my light trailer. It latches securely and doesn't look like it should collect water when it rains. I'll probably add a strip of adhesive weather stripping to the inside of the lid though to make it even more water tight. I caulked around the bottom where the box meets the trailer frame with black DAP caulk.The lid springs open and stays open with it's hydraulic support. The side handles seem fine, but I won't need them since it's permanently mounted to my trailer.I plan to use the box for hauling bulky, lightweight, and dirty stuff on our camping trips - like wheel chocks, trailer tongue support wheel, small propane canisters, cable lock, extension cord, and some tire change tools.

Misleading product descriptions need to be addressed. This item should be NOT described as "heavy duty". The lid won't stay closed. I've adjusted the latch several times and it continues to pop open when driving. Locking it does not help.I honestly can't believe I see positive reviews for this box.This box is fairly large, so you might be tempted to store large and potentially heavy items. However it is also super light weight and thin material. You certainly won't be able to lift it by the handles if it is loaded with anything but fluff. The carry handles barely support the box when it's empty.I purchased this with the intent to mount it on my car hauler trailer. I needed a place for chains, straps, winch, etc. Looking at it in person, I realized that I needed to beef it up. I constructed a steel cradle for under the box and I put a thick plywood floor inside the box. Even so, I worry about placing heavy items inside the box because the box will be destroyed if the contents shift. After adding weatherstrip material (not included), I am hoping the box will keep my stuff dry. In retrospect I should have purcahsed a steel box.

Came with a dent in it.. & the key is hard to turn. But other than that, decent product.
