"Update"
UPDATE: I can verify that Revopoint truly stands by their commitment to 'total' customer satisfaction. I'm embarrassed about not contacting the seller (Revopoint) first, before complaining in a review. They went above and beyond in resolving my issues. And I found I was border line pushing the limitations of the range and expecting too much of it.Note that targeting methods and surface prep with "light" technology scanners is a steep learning curve. My familiarity is in 'laser' technology and not comparable. My mistake. I didn't learn enough before buying. If you're looking for scan equipment and a reputable seller to buy from, it's Revopoint. I do still think the export file type limitation could be better but competent external conversion software is free. It just means a step outside of their Revoscan platform. Again, I was expecting too much._____________________________________________________________________I'm a trained scan technician. With Leica & Faro equipment. I've scanned 5 story buildings in their entirety with a 3mm tolerance. I needed a smaller personal unit to use on a boat restoration project. The tolerance specifications met my needs and it included scan merging software. To be clear, I had no expectations of this scanner being anywhere equal in quality to a commercial grade laser scanner. But in reading their advertising I was expecting the Range to have the basic capacity to scan a flat boat deck area and the ability to transfer the file into a CAD software to develop a trace for CNC part fabrication. All are basic functions 'any' 3D scanner should accomplish. And with the very low complexity of my scan area the user learning curve 'should' have been minimal. Well ... Get ready for hours and hours of video's from users passing bogus help because crowd sourced tech support is just that. The Revopoint Range is a 3D Hobbyists toy marketed as a highly competent 3D scanner. If you're looking for a "large format" scanner don't be fooled by these toys claiming to do large format. If you have all the time in the world, access to free targets and scan spray, and you're 3d scanning tchotchke's for your Star Wars collection shelf of 3D printed toys .... this is your best overpriced option. Also, check the export file extension you need before you buy it. Revoscan will not give you a CAD format file. That in itself leaves this product out of a true 3D scanner category. It provides STL - .OBJ - .PLY. External conversion software is necessary for DXF or RCP.I bought this well in advance of needing it to ensure it was here when needed. I'd love to just send this thing back, but I can't. Now I'm stuck with this $600+ toy $200 in wasted targeting accessories and an $800 scan cost to get what I needed.

Probably the best 3d scanner now!
I took some time before writing this review. I already own a POP 2 3D scanner and I bought a Range 3D scanner for scanning human bodies and large car parts. It is great! At first, it might be a bit challenging, but once you figure out the distance and exposure settings, the scanning process becomes incredibly smooth. I tried it about three or four times, and I was able to scan a complete portrait with excellent results. Unlike other 3d scanners, Range actually manage to capture hair, which is impressive. It is the greatest 3d scanner for 3d printing human service. The post-processing settings can be a bit complex, though. I t would be helpful if the company could provide some specific examples. For now, I have everything set to the highest level, and the results are fantastic. I haven't used the turntable, but I imagine it would make the process even more efficient, although it is a bit pricey.I use it to scan my Tesla, and the results are fantastic! The marker point mode worked very smoothly,, which was a pleasant surprise. I've seen some POP 2 reviews saying that scanning cars is not good, but the Range is excellent for scanning cars. You can also scan with your own phone, which I tried and it was amazing to scan the car's interior. There is no need to connect to a power strip, just a power bank and a phone could make it very compact. After 3D scanning, the data can be exported to a computer for processing and achieve the same accuracy as a computer scan. I've used Einstar 3D scanners, and scanning interiors was a struggle, especially when looking for a power strip.Overall, I feel this is probably the best 3D scanner in the market for scanning the human body. It's even better than some professional 3D scanners that I used which cost ten times as much. It's also great for scanning cars, especially with the convenience of mobile scanning. I hope the Revopoint continues to work hard on updating the software and developing more features!

This scanner is great for scanning large objects
The media could not be loaded. This RANGE surpasses other scanners in the same price range, as it allows me to easily scan car parts using my phone. The scanning process is very straightforward, and I can scan the car wheel and the surrounding area without markers in just a few minutes. One of my friends purchased a Ferret scanner because it was a little cheaper, but he ended up wasting his money as the software would crash due to memory issues and lose track of the scanning process. Therefore, I highly recommend this scanner to anyone in need of a reliable and efficient scanner.
