Big speed boost, simple set up.
I have a Virginmedia Superhub 3 and in my smallish house I was unable to get the full 200mbs in all rooms. This router now means I get the max speed in every room and took 10 mins to set up. Shop around and you can get them for under £130.

European plug
Does not have a UK plug. Useless.

RP-AX58 model options
Be very careful you order / know which plug standard you require. There are *6* different options: UK/EU/US/AUS TW/CN and even now I don't see any differentiating code numbers. Pretty dumb n'est-ce pas? Low score for that reason. I had to return my first one.

Uninspiring
I wanted to install Merlin firmware on this router, as I have with other ASUS routers I have owned, but I discovered that it’s not available on version 2 of this model. Also, the UPnP feature on this router didn’t work with my network monitor. This is the first time I have had this problem with any router. The Wi-Fi is no stronger than the router supplied by my ISP (FRITZ!Box 7530 AX) and the capable speed shown by the inSSIDer app shows the ASUS router as being way slower than any of my neighbours on the 5 GHz band and slower than my ISP’s router as well. Finally, the GUI has a lot less features than I have been used to with previous ASUS routers. I've sent it back for a refund and will stick with the FRITZ!Box from now on.
