The Magicard Pronto ID card printer was everything we had hoped for. It was very easy to install and get running. The software is easy to use and the process of making the ID's is an easy process. The quality is great and the colors are sharp. Impressed with the quality of the photos we have on the ID's. I definitely recommend this product.

The printer seems basic but does the job and seems to make decent cards. The included software, however, is pure garbage. You will get a very basic manual which really doesn't explain anything and the link that it includes for a more inclusive online manual sends you to some business page that has absolutely nothing to do with helping understand the software. The included software says you can make a basic database, but all I get is constant errors and there is absolutely no online support explaining how to make it work correct. Naturally, if you want a better version of the software, you have to pay hundreds of dollars. This printer was purchased to make ID cards for a small volunteer fire department, but it looks like we are going to have to spend more tax payer money if we want software that is halfway manageable. Update: The printer works great after you mess with the settings. Just beware that the software that comes with this printer is a very basic version of the software and functionality is very limited. That being said, my software came in a DVD style case, but was actually loaded onto a USB dongle. After speaking to the seller, it is believed that the software dongle may have been corrupt, so the seller sent me a new and different brand of software. The new software was the basic version of a different brand, but it worked and was very easy to use. I will probably still have to pay some money to upgrade to the next level of software to get more of the functionality I need out of it, but until then, I can manage with what I have. That being said, the level of customer support from the seller has been top notch. I still give the product a 4/5 due to the software being so basic and expensive to upgrade, but I give the seller a solid 10/10 for their help and willingness to try to make it right.

Very easy to use, on initial setup and trying to print a card would not print. Called the service representative for the software and put in a request for service. They called back at a few minutes prior to their closing time. They remained on the phone working out the problem. Turned out to be a corrupt card format. They fixed issue and have had no issues since. Just right for our small business!!

GO ELSEWHERE, NOT BODNO, especially if you are a MAC user. Print quality is HORRIBLE. After wasting 2 hours with tech support sharing my screen they told me that my pictures were not the right quality. Tech sent me a sample to print. Quality was equally as bad. When he tried making adjustments the program kept crashing. He told me he had to check with R&D and would get back to me. He did get back same day and gave me the old uninstall and reinstall a different package suggestion. Like a good little boy I did what was suggested. SAME ISSUE, it crashes. Blamed it on my operating system but my MacBook Pro is the latest model and operating system is up to date. I sent him the crash report and he told me he'd get back to me the next day (today). He kept his work, he did get back to me only to tel me that R&D was still working on the software bug and would follow up when the issue is resolved. So I spend over $1,100 on a product that DOES NOT WORK and im told that someone will get back to me when the issue is solved. I will solve the issue myself by returning the machine and all items that were purchased. Customer service tip for BODNO. Don't have your trouble shooting guy handle customer service issues. Someone should have called with at a minimum somewhat of an attempt to make the situation right. BUY ELSEWHERE!!!!

This entire setup does exactly what its supposed to do. Print IDs....and well. This is definitely a machine for a low volume office. There is no hopper so blanks have to be fed in manually. On the plus side you can easily print 2 side cards despite this being a single side printer. The card design software that comes with the printer installed quickly and is super easy to use. Couldn't ask for a better deal

The Pronto is perfect for the scale of my operation. I may make only a few dozen ID cards right away, and then I'll make 2 or 3 at a time going forward. The quality of the ID cards is very good. You should get some good graphics software to make 300 dpi artwork. You can use the artwork as the background for ID templates. The templates can be saved for later use. The free software is barely adequate, but I'm able to do what I need. If you want to run larger numbers of ID cards in batches, you should buy a software upgrade, and you will probably want to buy a printer with a card hopper. With the Pronto, you manually insert one card at a time. That's fine for me. The problem I have with the unit is getting my communications working. The first time I used the Pronto, it was a snap. Everything was easy. Windows 10 treats the Pronto correctly as a printer, but it will often come up as offline, and printing will produce an error. Be careful to open the Settings and make sure you have only one copy of the Pronto driver listed. You can manage the Pronto printer and remove it if necessary. If you plug in the Pronto USB and you get new copies of the driver, that is the sign of a problem. Clear out all your copies of the driver and try again. If you have a dedicated ID printing system, you may not have the trouble I've had with that issue. HOWEVER!! Nothing beats this system for portability. I want to print ID cards at events in different locations. I pick up a laptop, the Pronto, and go. I have my templates ready, and I can make IDs anywhere I have electricity. The system comes with a camera, so you can make photo IDs! I haven't tried that yet, but it's has to be cool! I'm really happy overall with it. You may get frustrated at times, but work through it, and you should have a powerful tool to use.

J’ai eu de la difficulté au début avec la configuration de l’imprimante ainsi que l’impression en couleur des cartes. J’ai appelé au support technique pour m’aider avec mes problèmes. L’équipe était très disponible et à l’écoute. En résumé, je suis satisfaite de l’imprimante.

The unit did not perform as advertised. Ask to return it and was told to ship at my own cost. No problem. I repacked the unit with everything the same as it was received. Shipped it via FEDEX at a cost over $140.00. The Bodno company received it one week later and when I asked for my refund, they indicated it had not been received. I had a receipt with signature to show it had been delivered. Then they said there was no ribbon, software, cards etc in the package. I told them that all was packaged exactly as received. After 3 weeks of email back and forth a refund was finally received. Very poor business practice on their part.
