Yes, the door can be solid material or mesh, depending on the amount of ventilation you need.

Aluminium poles and vestibule groundsheet off the top of my head.

Yes, outer first. once you have attached the inner part it can be left attached. Very easy to pitch tent and excellent value, would be cosy for 2 people but I find it great for one and your kit.

Q: What’s the difference between this and the jackal

I think the Jackal is slightly higher spec, aluminium poles and a ground sheet for the vestibule are two things. Check the spec of both and see which one suits your needs.
