In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

I love these sneakers
I love these sneakers, and I am not sure why they do not have 5 stars, for they most certainly deserve it! as a competitive fencer, my workouts are very extensive and strenuous, and I use these shoes every day. They are durable, comfortable and light and I have received a lot of compliments on these shoes. At first, I was very hesitant to buy them, but I decided to give it a try since the shipping is free. I did not regret and I would most certainly buy them again!

Surprisingly fantastic!
Once you get the sizing down, the shoe fits beautifully and performs well. I generally wear a 10, and always order multiple sizes when ordering online to be sure I get the right fit. (Most of the time, I have to send ALL of them back, as something isn't quite right.) In this shoe, I had to -- for first time ever -- order a 10 1/2. It fits perfectly with a rather thin sock. Have been wearing these for pickleball both inside and outside and they have performed well and were comfortable (no break in) right out of the box. This is VERY unusual for me to have shoes where both right and left shoe fit well/comfortably. They are leather, and very reasonably priced. Low key, classic design. Because the fit was spot on, I ordered a 2nd pair right away to keep for the future -- leather ASICS tennies for $35? -- price couldn't be beat.

Happy with purchase
I purchased these shoes because they were on a couple of lists for the best women's shoes for tennis for 2016. They were repeatedly the least expensive of the options on the lists, so I thought I would give them a shot. I have only played on them a couple of times, but I have been really impressed. For me at least, they seemed to fit good immediately without the need to break them in. I also tend to use arch supports in my shoes, and while I think I will still add a separate arch support, I do feel that these shoes provide better arch support than most of the other shoes that I own. Time will tell how they hold up, but as for my initial impressions, I am extremely happy with these. I think they are the best shoe purchase that I have made in a while.

Just what I needed
I was very pleased. I got the shoes to wear in my special needs classroom and they fit the bill perfectly. Back and forth, up and down, my feet feel much MUCH better at the end of the day. I've been wearing them for a week now and they still look new.

Good value
I bought these for tennis and they are a great value. I had been buying New Balance because they carry a narrow width but I have been increasingly suspicious that they were slapping a narrow label on the regular shoe. The Asics do not have a lot cushioning in the sole so I put in very thin pair of gel insoles. Considering the insoles and that I wear heavy socks the width fits my fairly narrow foot quite well. I don't think there is a lot of lateral support but that was not relevant to me. Since I just started wearing the Asics I cannot discuss how well they will wear.

I love these shoes
I love these shoes! No break in required and they fit true to size. I always wear Asics and don't like to spend a lot of money on shoes since I play so much tennis and wear the bottoms out while the tops still look new. This is the second pair of this shoe I've bought. Great shoe and great price!

ASICS Women's Gel-Game Point Tennis Shoe
Am very disappointed in this tennis shoe, but can't blame anyone else. They fit just fine, but, when I played tennis (hard surface) in them, I found that, due to the lower cut, they did not offer the ankle support needed and the next day my ankles and legs ached. I am now trying to find a tennis shoe with a similar shape and fit, but with a higher cut for more support. I have always used New Balance tennis shoes, but the style I used has been discontinued. I will continue to shop for another tennis shoe.

Not very comfortable
The sole of my foot burns after an hour of tennis. Still hoping to break them in, I have work them 5 or 5 times. Not bad for the price.
