Rimmel Sunshimmer Water Resistant Instant Tan Wash Off Shimmer - Light

I haven’t purchased this since my younger days and thought I’d give it another shot! OMG - so easy to apply (I used a tanning brush). This tan is good for one day needed tans as does go a bit blotchy if get wet but once it’s applied, it’s not tacky like most tans and doesn’t give streaks throughout the day. I tend to apply this if I’m wearing shorts as it makes my legs look 100% better. Literally takes 5-10 minutes to apply and dries into the skin so fast so can get on with the day! Brilliant product.

Cannot believe that I can still get this amazing stuff! I'm 51 n I used this alot from the age of 13! Still as amazing as then n the smell is the same too. Smells like perfume not the biscuit smell like other tanning products. It dries really quick n when U use a kabuki brush to apply it it is absolutely amazing. Never faulted at all. Easy to wash off too. Great for my legs which are so pale they look like milk bottles. No lie. Just look at the pics 😂 but the pics don't do it justice. I've used the medium shade so it gives me a lush golden glowing tan that doesn't look fake, streaky nor patchy. I've tried so many tanning products n this by far is THE BEST! Thanks Rimmel. U never to cease to amaze.

I have been using this for a long while now, and it produces a natural tan color to your face, as winter in uk is a dreary white skinned time, but I can recommend this product to give you a warmer looking appearance :-)

Brilliant, I buy this for my boyfriend would you believe it. He just perks him up when his Spanish skin tan fades in the winter! 😆

If you are looking for a good value wash-off tan that applies easily and has a good, neutral colour (I am fair to light skinned with warm undertones), this may be worth considering. However, if you are sensitive to strong scents or you are very particular about the scents you like, I'd suggest that you think twice before buying this one. Personally, the fragrance of this product was a deal breaker for me, so much so that I managed only one application from the whole tube and even then, I desperately wanted to wash it off after 10 minutes. I did want to give the product a chance however, so I persevered to see if the strong scent dissipated. Sadly, it was still too strong even after many hours. I would describe it as very 'Woods of Windsor' or a traditional, powdery scent. It lingers and if you like to wear perfume or other fragrance, then it may not be the best product to use as it could clash or 'muddy' the fragrance you are wearing. In summary, everything about this product apart from the fragrance is just fine. Why Rimmel felt the need to add such a strong and distinctive fragrance to a self-tanning product without DHA is anyone's guess but it makes it a 'no' for me.

I have used this product for years and I’m very glad to see it is still being made, although the packaging has been updated. This is a *wash off* tan product. It comes as a thick, darkly stained, gel-like liquid which needs to be applied with a glove/mitt or a sponge of some sort as it is staining to the hands, however it washes off with soap and water. I use this mainly for my face all year round and I apply it instead of/in combination with a foundation. I apply it with a foundation brush in circular motions and it gives a tanned warm glow without blemish coverage, so more of a stain, but it looks natural because of that, and often it’s all I need to wake up some glow. You only need a very small amount of product as it goes a long way. I have dark skin so I use the darkest shade, but it is quite dark. In the summer I use this on my body, especially my legs and it looks really natural (and can pass at thin denier tanned tights) it doesn’t streak if you apply quickly in circular motions and it is not waterproof. It dries very quickly and completely, feels comfortable and does not transfer to clothes unless you apply it an area that’s likely to get sweaty. Note: do not use immediately after a moisturiser or it will roll into tiny balls on your skin, let your moisturiser absorb completely first and don’t use anything too greasy, use a high water content moisturiser. Quick and easy to use for a temporary summer glow. Years of use means I can recommend this product.

Excellent product. Easy to apply (I used a brush) and it stays put. Gives a natural look which you can build on if you want darker. It didn't rub off on clothes or bed linen. In fact, it needs a thorough good scrub to remove in the shower, but it does wash out of your towels if you didn't quite remove it all lol!

Awesome product! This is my go to when I am needing color. I always get compliments when I have used it because of the natural look of color. Warning … wear gloves when applying.

I really like this product! Great coverage, easy to apply. Non-transferring to clothes. I followed everyone's lead on making sure it is fully dry before getting dressed. It didn't leave extra pigment on the knees, ankles, or elbows, which is a first for me! I used a self tanner brush to apply and it was easy to evenly apply. It adds a nice color boost without appearing orange. Would definitey recommend and I will buy again!

I've been using this product for years - with a glove/pad is best but also works fine with your hands. Goes on easily and smoothly, you can see it as it goes on so no nasty surprises later! No night before prep required. Dries quickly and washes off easily in the shower.
