As a reader, I found this book to be a valuable resource filled with precise tips and dynamic activities that make teaching life skills to teens feel manageable and engaging. One of the standout features of this book is its focus on effective communication with autistic teens. The 12 tips for communicating effectively with others were incredibly helpful, providing practical guidance for parents and caregivers to connect with their teens in a meaningful way.The book also addresses executive functioning challenges that autistic teens often face and provides practical solutions for dealing with them. I appreciated the insights on setting deadlines as a motivational tool rather than a source of stress, as well as the guidance on discovering activities that ignite passion in teens and promote their overall well-being.The author's approach to turning personal care into a pampering experience was refreshing, offering a more positive and enjoyable perspective on daily tasks. The chaining methods for making daily tasks more manageable were practical and easy to implement in everyday life.Safety advice covering transport, mobile devices, and emergency situations was thorough and provided peace of mind for parents concerned about their teen's well-being.What sets this book apart is the focus on dynamic activities that won't feel like work for teens while boosting their social, behavioral, and physical skills. These activities are well-designed to keep teens engaged and motivated, promoting their overall development.Overall, "Life Skills for Teens With Autism" is a must-read for parents, caregivers, and educators of autistic teens. The book offers a comprehensive and user-friendly guide to empowering teens with the skills they need for success in academics, social interactions, and future adulthood. I highly recommend this book for its practicality, effectiveness, and genuine care for the well-being of autistic teens. Waste of Moneyí
This is a list of things to do with little guidance as to how to do it.Furthermore it is written by an American author so it is based on the American environment/ systems - useless when in the UK.Also the authors poor English and a distinct lack of proof reading makes many parts of the book difficult to read / decipher.Bottom line if in UK don't buy this book - absolute waste of money.
