Kuat Access Bike Ramp for NV 2.0 Family Black, One Size

The ramp really made life a lot easier for us as lifting two heavy ebikes onto the rack wasn’t something we really enjoyed. It is expensive and I do feel Kuat should include it with the rack, but it is worth it.

We’re retirement age and didn’t want to lift heavy ebikes onto our rack. The ramp takes seconds to install. One person can do this , you don’t need help. The first time may be a little awkward but it’s just a matter of going slow up the ramp and across the beam then securing the bike. Make sure that you take the battery off first. If a bike falls very hard with an installed battery there is a risk of the battery going into suiside mode which kills the battery. I know that Bosch ebike battery’s are designed this way. It’s a safety feature. Other brands I don’t know but you don’t want to damage your very expensive battery. ……The ramp comes with two adapters that you will need to install first that fit near the end of each beam of your rack. Takes just a few minutes to install both of them . You never need to take the adapters on or off again. The adapter is what the ramp attaches to. This ramp and adapters will only work on the Kuat NV2 and NV2 base racks. This is what I’ve been told. The ramp is rated for up to 60 pounds . The rack is rated for 60 pounds also if it’s the 2 bike unit. Some ebikes are over 60 pounds, just another reason to remove the battery first to lower the weight…. The ramp works great ,easy to use, very strong and should last as long as your rack.Hope this is helpful.

Ramp telescopes for easy use and retracts for easy storage in the trunk, etc.Ramp also has a deeper rut to keep the tires on the ramp. A life-changer for a 50-lb. bike!
