Delivers a great shave in 60 secs
Bought to replace a 10+ year old 7000 series, I’m a bit of a tech geek, so I considered buying the top of the range series, for the Bluetooth ‘personal settings’ and metering, then I got a bit realistic and I’m pleased I did. IMHO this razor is night and day better than I expected. I have a shave that’s as smooth as a wet shave and finished in a minute. It’s quiet, good weight and delivers what It should.

smooth shaving
Gives the smoothest, closest shave I've ever had from a shaver. Very easy to follow facial contours, even the tricky ones. It's quiet and holds the charge well. If I'm looking for minus points I'd say there are three:1. surprising lack of foil guard (not a major problem if you always return it to its container)2. charging via USB. This means I can't charge from the 2-pin socket in the bathroom so have to goelsewhere in the house. Nt a major hassle, but . . .3. You instinctively hold it at the slimmer end of the body but I found I kept inadvertently hitting theoff button. You avoid this by holding it right up underneath the head. That said, I think it's a quality item at what is, comparatively, a fairly reasonable price.TIP: these circular cutter heads have a tendency to fall out if you try to clear them out by tapping the body and all of a sudden they're in the hand-basin. I used a small aerosol can of air my son had given me and it works a treat although I'll probably rig up some sort of hand-operated puffer to replace it when it runs out.

Top Shaver for everyday use.
Just bought this shaver it's brilliant no hassle putting on shaving cream then shaving with blade cutting my skin after 30 years plus of shaving wet I finally found a better way of shaving. A few strokes and I'm done if you have to shave every day cause of work commitments. For me this works . Thank you Phillips I'm impressed.

Great shave
I’m in my late seventies and this is the first electric shaver that I’ve had so I am not comparing it to previous ones but purely on its merits. I have used it every day for the last month mostly dry but sometimes with shaving soap and brush. Either way it does a brilliant job and is easy to clean under the tap. It is very quiet and much quicker than shaving with a blade and no cuts !! As you get older the skin gets more fragile and cuts quite easily with blades so this is the answer for me. I have just put it on charge for first time and it has one bar remaining but I didn’t want it to run out halfway through a shave but it may well have been ok for another week yet. I love it. It may seem large but I have no issue at all shave with it.

Philips Shaver Series 5000
Having used a Philips shaver 3000 model for a few years now I’ve noticed that lately it doesn’t do such a good job as it used to even with replacement heads. When the motor started making screeching noises I decided to replace it with this later model. This holds the charge well and is much quieter than the older model. In addition an improvement is the USB charging unit which I can have sitting beside the shaver socket. This certainly gives a much closer shave. I’m glad to see this model has reverted to having an integral hair trimmer which was a separate unit on my older one. The finishing touch is a nicely designed case in which to store it. Overall I’m very pleased with this and consider it well worth the cost at under £!00.Update 14/05/24: having had this for 6 weeks I can honestly say that this is a much improved shaver. I have used it daily and realise that the angled corners of the shaver help get into those recessed areas where stubble can be missed. This model certainly holds the charge extremely well. My daily shave takes about 5 minutes and I charge it once a week even though there's plenty of 'juice' left indicated by the 2 of 3 led lights aparent when charging.

Good purchase
Provides a smooth clean shave and is gentle on your skin. As a long term user of philishaves, this is a good purchase.

Good quality
The trimmer is of good quality with reasonable battery life but the trimming head I found to be too big and bulky for short beard cutting.I will be replacing this soon for another hettekka style trimmer
