Colour outcome really depends on starting point!
Ok. I have abused my hair for decades so the results were always going to be patchy (lots of different blonde box dyes, therefore bands of different colours) however, I’m pleased that this has kind of pulled them together and it definitely has greatly reduced the dreadful orange tones that were prevalent throughout. The first try didn’t seem to do much really. I only left it on for just over 10 minutes. I then did it again a couple of days later, leaving on for much longer (17 minutes) with much better results. These pictures are taken indoors but with good natural daylight from above. Different lighting really impacts how the colour looks, for example, in subdued lighting, it’s almost a pale ashy brown in places. Some lighting makes it look a coppery kind of pale brown, which is a bit disappointing if you’re trying to eliminate orange tones. Positives: smells really nice, hair feels in pretty good shape afterwards, despite years of absolute abuse, definitely works in the right lighting. Negatives: does seem to fade incredibly rapidly (but this might be because my poor battered hair is so porous), might need more than one attempt and might need to push it to the upper end of processing time. According to the box, it’s only going to last a maximum of 3 weeks so be prepared to be doing this regularly. I’m still giving this a five star review because it certainly changed the tone, it doesn’t cost a fortune and it’s really easy and pleasant to use.

Quick fix for a natural look
Great for toning down brassy blonde! Maybe a little dark after first use but the next wash left it a perfect shade! Easy to apply too-and quick..

TURNED MY HAIR A PURPLISH GREY!!!!
If i could give 0 stars i would! Absolutely heartbroken I'm sat here crying as I type this. I always bleach my hair a lovely light blonde as I'm a natural blonde its gotten darker with age. I did my usual bleaching process then thought I'd try this instead of what I usually do. What a massive mistake that was i really regret using this product it has messed up my hair and turned it a purplish grey colour its horrible. I only left it on for about 8 minutes. I definitely don't recommend this product! 😭💔

A definite tone
It definitely toned my just bleached and slightly brassy hair, however, I wouldn’t say it toned it to the pearly blonde on the box. Realistically, there should, I think, always be wriggle room in terms of expectations when you’re doing your hair at home. I’m not a hairdresser or colour expert, I just wanted to try and combat the natural brass that appears in my hair whenever it’s most inconvenient! I lifted it using the Jerome Russell balayage kit (see left brassier picture) and then applied the toner the next day on dry hair (see less brassier picture). I don’t think it touch the sort of band where brown meets brass but as you can see there is a visible difference in the rest of the length. Would I use it again? Yes I would. Did it leave my hair feeling dry and brittle - a little but I can’t say it’s because of this product and not because I bleached and toned my hair in 2 days. I don’t mind the result at all, but for me, whose goal was to get rid of the brass, I’ve opted for a colour depositing brown conditioner to try. If your goal is to be lighter then I would recommend this product ☺️ the only reason I’m not doing 5 stars is because my personal hair goal wasn’t achieved using this product but don’t let that deter you.

Works really well and leaves hair soft and shiny!
This is an excellent product, really toned down the yellow in my hair. My bleached hair looked and felt like straw before and now the colour looks like the woman on the box and it feels soft and shiny. Would definitely recommend 👍

To expensive at £9
Love the product love how it tones but why is it over double the price than the shops? £9 is a rip off BnM sell it at less that half that price

Surprisingly great product
Very impressed with this, I bleach my own hair and have tried a range of much more expensive products with no why near as good results. I had very light (too light) bleached hair which was pretty yellow and I wanted ash blonde, I decided to give this one a good without much hope but it's cheap so was worth a try. It came out perfect and I'm usually very sensitive but had no reaction to this at all. I've now ordered it on subscribe and save so can top it up ever month or so. It also left my hair feeling really soft and healthy.

Very good.
Asked my hairdresser for a dark cool blonde balayage and got the weird bright yellow non balayage bleach job in the picture. Absolutely hated it, really clashed with my skin tone and didn’t want a light platinum look I’d get from a purple toner or shampoo so decided to try this in luminous pearl. I’m still not sure what I think about the result except to say it’s much better than it was but it does have a brown/grey look to it I feel rather than cool blonde. Posted pictures so people can judge for themselves as the pictures are very true to what my hair colour is before and after using. EDIT - after leaving this review and then reading about how long you leave toners on for I realised that I left this on way too long and the dark result I got is a consequence of this! After the first wash a couple of days after I had used the toner it washed up to a beautiful ashy darker blonde just like the picture on the box.

Not as easy to use as the foam ones, but still easy enough. Hair doesn't dry up which is good.

Takes 10 min to tone down yellow and light orange hair. Doesn’t wash away quickly and doesn’t damage the hair. Highly recommended
