What would be the best option for mounting a GH4?

It would work for the GH4 and is a cheaper option but the shape is best for tradition cinema camera bodies like the FS5 rather than a mirrorless. The better thing to do would be to buy a specific GH4 cage. This gives you access to using 15mm rods, then attach a tripod mounting plate
