Worth it. Makes a ton of compost. Don't hesitate to buy!
Works Great! I have been using this for about a month. I was hesitant at first, but this is a very good product and worth the extra coins. It makes fabulous compost material. It is quiet and is designed to look good on a countertop. The compost pail is made of excellent material and should last for years. It is easy to use and easy to clean. Just rinse it out in the sink and put it back into the machine. I fill it with scraps all day, then run at night. I am careful with bones. I put no large bones in it- only small, delicate bones (if any). I don't even put chicken wing bones in it, but the manufacturer says you can. I keep the browns to greens ratio as close as I can (2 or 3 parts brown to 1 part green). I find that typical kitchen scraps, including coffee grounds, hit the ratio kind of naturally. You can put small amounts of starches (rice, pasta, bread), but not too much, and make sure you have enough browns to compensate. Do not put ONLY starches in the bin; this will not end well. I leave the pail on my counter all day as I fill it up and use the lid from the machine to cover the pail so as not to draw flying insects. I have not had a problem with insects at all so far. I would not let it sit out more than a day to a day and a half before running. it. I normally cook for 2 to 4 people and make enough scraps to run it almost every night. We are also coffee drinkers, and coffee (including the filters) is a great addition to the compost. I have used the compost already, and it mixes VERY well with my soil. I was using a messy, difficult, and disappointing compost tumbler, and after a year had little compost and it was of poor quality. With this machine, I am on track to double my kitchen compost, and it is of excellent quality.

A1! This works great and keeps my food waste out of the landfill.
When I purchased this I saw the mixed reviews, but decided to go ahead. I mean for the price... This device is excellent. It is so handy for keeping food waste from the landfill. It does not smell. It is super quite. It handles everything it advertises it can. I dump the output into my planter. I expect an excellent crop next year.

Good Way to Shrink Food Scraps
I've put a couple dozen cycles on my unit and really like the results. This unit is fairly compact and does a great job of grinding up food wastes into dust and small particles. The resulting product is about 1/3 of what was loaded. I wouldn't consider it finished compost by any means. Though it is a pretty good start. Only two issues so far. I had to move the unit to my garage because the odor generated was too much for in the kitchen. The carbon filter knocks down odor, but doesn't eliminate it. The other was when I put a bag of rotten grapes in the unit. The contents set up like cement. It took a day of chipping, soaking, and scrubbing to everything out so that I could use the unit again. Overall, the unit is a pretty good value.

I have mulch! I love this machine!!
Living in California, we are encouraged to compost our food scraps rather than throwing them into the garbage and adding to the landfills. But the traditional composting, using an outside bin, with the smell, potential to attracting insects and varmints, and all of the turning was not for me. I wanted something quick and easy! I kept hearing about the Lomi countertop composter on my True Crime podcasts so decided to check it out! But, after checking, I decided the price of the Lomi was way too much! I then started looking at other options and reading all of the reviews. That is when I found the Airthereal Composter! I'm so glad I did!! I ordered the machine on Sunday, knowing it wouldn't arrive until Wednesday. I immediately began saving all of my food scraps in a countertop scrap bin. After reading reviews and tips, I learned that it was important that the mixture be a combination of wet and dry material. I was walking my dog and came upon a pile of dry pine needles and knew this was the perfect dry material! I used my extra poo bags to gather a nice supply! ☺️ Finally, my machine arrived on Wednesday! I took some of my saved food scraps and put them in the bucket. I then added some of the pine needles. The bucket is relatively small and only holds a few cups of scraps. It is probably a days worth in our home, which is perfect as I prefer not to keep scraps longer than a day I turned on the machine and was amazed at how quiet it was! You had to listen closely to hear it running. There was absolutely no smell so I can run it on our kitchen counter while watching TV in the adjoining family room. Five hours later, I noticed the machine was off so I opened it and I have mulch!! It only makes about a cup of mulch but I usually have enough food scraps to run it at least once a day. So I will have a constant supply of mulch for my potted plants, and eventually, my flower beds. And best of all, I will no longer be throwing food waste in the garbage! I have attached pictures of the food scraps in the bucket before and after adding the dry needles to give you an idea of the wet/dry mixture I used. I also attached a picture of the machine buttons when I started the machine. The next pictures show the beautiful mulch I created and the bucket after emptying the mulch. Although the manual doesn't give a lot of information, it does list what should and should not be put in the composter. What is really nice is that you receive an extra 6 month extended warranty when you register your machine. I am very happy with my purchase and so will my plants be! It is incredible how easy it makes composting! And as a bonus, it is fun! If you are considering buying a countertop composter and comparing models, I highly recommend the Airthereal Composter! It does exactly what you expect without any noise, smell or mess! Just do it!!

Huge fan!
This was exactly what I wanted! Before buying, you should do your research and understand what this is and what it isn't. 1. This is essentially a food dryer/grinder. It prepares food waste to be composted. IT IS NOT A COMPOSTER. Once the food has been processed, add it to your soil, and the natural process of composting will occur. 2. It's pretty easy to clean. After use, I empty it then soak it in water for a few minutes to loosen any dried food. Strands do get stuck in the metal on the side, so I use a metal skewer to scrape out the gunk that won't come out. Otherwise, after soaking, it washes out pretty easily. If there's a lot of stuck-on gunk, you can also run it through the dishwasher. 3. After cooking and producing a lot of food waste, I run the machine, which will run for 1-6 hours, depending on several factors. I like to run it overnight, but it's not noisy, so it can run at any time. 4. I've never noticed any odor. Refer to the manual as to what should and shouldn't go in it. DON'T LEAVE FOOD WASTE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE RUNNING IT. I bought a separate countertop pail with a filter for smaller amounts of food waste that may sit for a few minutes. 5. The resulting "compost" is a very small amount. It's valuable if you have a flower bed or other small amount of lawn/garden where you want to cultivate healthy soil. I cook with fresh produce quite often, so I like that I'm adding to my flower bed over time. 6. Despite all the "no's" in the manual, there is a wide variety of food you can add to it. Try different types of foods and see what works well. I've found that a variety of foods at once works best, but I've never seen any problems with anything I've added to it. You'll discover what kinds of food provide the best quality of "compost." 7. The size is only 2.5 quarts, so it is small, but if you run it daily, or even a couple of times if you have a large amount of food to throw out. The size is perfect for the amount of food waste produced when cooking dinner. I think this is an excellent machine, very easy to use, and well worth the money. If you want to truly compost, you need to get an outdoor composter. Do your research, know what you're getting, and I think you'll be happy.

Would not buy this brand again * update *
We’ve owned this for about 5 months now. It worked great for a while, then all the sudden quit grinding. We contacted the company through email (as thats all they provide). They insisted on a video which we sent. After a lot of back and forth it was determined that it was a missing gear. Be warned if you purchase this, there is a gear that can come out with the waste bucket. It isn’t shown in the book, so if you don’t look for it, you wouldn’t know it was there. We think it came out with the bucket and when we carried the bowl to the garden to empty it, it dropped out somewhere. We’ve been unable to find it. They are going to invoice us for the part which has to ship from the China warehouse. Dependent on the cost of the gear, this composter may get trashed. I won’t spend a fortune on this gear that I might also have to wait awhile to get. They say they stand behind their product. That’s great but how about good customer service? There is no mention of this part in their book and there is no information in the trouble shooting. It’s obviously a problem and I’m wondering how often this happens. * update* The company did replace the gear for free, however it was with a warning to not lose it again. I will repeat, the gear is not permanently attached so can easily stick to the waste container. Without knowing this is an issue it would be easy to lose. We look now every time we empty the container. I am still unhappy with the customer service. The reprimand not to lose the part again sticks in my craw. Twice the woman said ‘don’t lose it again’. Twice I said ‘build a product that does not fall apart’. So I stick to my original comment, I will not buy this band again.

electric kitchen composter
This is about the same size as my Ninja Foodi, so it has been placed on the floor of my walk in pantry. However, I no longer need a large compost bucket, so it actually saves space. The unit takes about 6 hours to run so some kitchen waste will need to sit a few hours if a cycle isn't done. It runs quieter than my microwave, so not bad. The final product is a fine, dry odorless powder, which is far superior to the smell of 2 day old squash innards.

Works efficiently & bucket is easy to fill & remove
Composter is easy to use & not loud. It works well & is not too big. The lid has a glass window to check on the progress I’m amazed how it grinds up everything & turns it into a powdery fine powdery compost that looks like a fine sawdust. It takes a few hours to complete the process but I like the compost efficiency.
