Craftsmanship and Use: The 5.5 ounce cans of Applaws Taste Toppers contain a mix of white stringy type meat (the chicken?) with some darker chunks (the lamb?). The gravy to meat ratio is good unlike some other brands where one finds mostly juice.I appreciate this is an “All Natural” product and was pleased that the toppers does not smell offensive or foul like many foods for pets.While this is ‘made for dogs’, I have used it as a topper for my two cats and their dry food. I have one cat who will literally eat anything and knew he would love it, while the other is extremely finicky, but he too enjoys this chicken and lamb taste topper. I did find that for my cats, the topper by itself is pretty rich, so I add about a teaspoon of the topper and mix it with water in their dry food and one can lasts several meals.Packaging: The 12-pack of canned Taste Toppers arrived in a standard Amazon shipping box, enclosed in a small cardboard case that was heat sealed in plastic. The case of cans had a shipping label on it from a warehouse to someone else, and appeared to have been previously shipped, but remained in good shape.The cans are colorful with a photo of the topper food, product name, benefits, serving instructions, feeding guidelines, company website and email, and more.Final Recommendation: I’m mindful of the foods I feed my pets and the ingredients they contain and appreciate this is all natural. While the price point is high, one can lasts several meals for my cats and works out to a minimal cost per feeding. I highly recommend these Taste Toppers, but of course note that adding this to a pet’s diet should only be done in consultation with your vet and the required/approved feeding guidelines for your pet.

This food topper was an instant hit with our basset hound. The look on his face after he finished his bowl of food was priceless. It was as he was asking me if I had taken a secret culinary course, and finally perfected my skill of preparing scrumptious dog nummy.Seriously, this food topper is very high quality. It has limited ingredients, and when you open the can all you can see is the shredded beef and chicken in a nice broth. It looked good enough for me to eat. We have been using meal toppers for our dog for quite a while, and it really does help him eat his dry food. But he most always leaves a little in his bowl. With this topper, he was trying to lick the shine off his bowl. He didn't leave scrap.I am also happy that it didn't give him any digestive problems. He's a notorious food scammer, and my husband has a hard time resisting when he is being stared at by those big, sad eyes. This has led to many digestive adventures. Finally, my husband can tell him no without feeling any guilt, because he sees what the dog is getting in these cans. It's real beef, and real chicken. I highly recommend this food topper, and will be reordering.

I used this canned food in a feeding toy for my dog. I love that the can has a tab to open and doesn't require a can opener. You can see strands of meat in the food, it isn't just mystery goo. When my dog was done with her toy, I noticed some of the strands were stuck in part of the toy and I even had to work at getting them out. Just be careful if using this in a feeding toy. We used this as a special treat and not daily food, but it didn't upset my dogs stomach at all to eat this for a meal. Overall I'm happy with this and would order it again or try another flavor!

I ordered it because they similar things from a brand name. I tried giving it to them twice. No luck. I am giving it 4 stars because my dogs are really divas when it comes to eating, so I am pretty sure it’s good (for dogs), but my chihuahua mixes are too spoiled.I hope I can give the rest to my neighbors’ dogs. I am sure they will love it.Thank you!
