A little disjointed
This book offered up insights into the life and culture of the Ancient Egyptian civilisation but often felt disjointed as it seemed to jump from one ruler to the next rather quickly without really explaining who was from which dynasty and leaving gaps of years unmentioned. I am sure this is (at least to some extent) caused by the lack of knowledge/evidence relating to said periods but I felt it could have been addressed a little better to make it easier to follow through chronologically as a reader with np previous knowledge. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

"Ancient Egypt" is an excellent work of history. It has everything readers could want: meticulous research, accessible prose, and the presentation of the past in a fun way. Readers are transported to ancient Egypt and back in the span of one volume. This feat is by no means insignificant, and it is an exemplar of history and entertainment colliding to form a beautiful barrage of reading bliss. Do not miss the oportunity to read this outstanding title!

This entire series is really good. Small pamphlet sized topics so easy to take along. But not small by glossing over the subject in generalities. Writer has perfected concise story telling. No fluff. To get more information you need to get a shovel & dig it up. Who's in who's out who's in ... and when.. all there. Human history is big dinosaurs eating smaller ones and smaller ones forming groups for eating the big ones ... No food chain, more of a daisy chain. Intervals of power assertion with supernatural claims to justify eating chomp chomp...
