TUSITA Silicone Case Compatible with Garmin Varia RTL510 RTL515

I had a costly experience with my previous radar - I lost it to a faulty seat-mounted, 3D-printed, quarter turn mount that snapped mid-ride and when I reaslised the radar was gone and I went back to where it stopped transmitting, someone had taken it. That radar wasn't in a case and unlike the Edge head unit, there's no built-in eyelet on the Varia RTL515 for threading a lanyard. That was an expensive mistake. Hence my reason for investing in this good value case. The radar fits snugly into this silicone case, and the case wraps around the radar without impeding its radar function or visibility of the light from the rear or sides. I prefer this silicone case to another hard case I saw, because if I happened to drop my radar in this case, the silicone would cushion the fall, whereas I'd be worried the radar may pop out of the hard case. My only suggestion to Tusita is to replace the included non-stretch lanyard with an elasticated one like the two that come with the Garmin Edge computer. The elasticated lanyard allows me to stretch the cord over my seat and down the seat post, so that if it did come loose, it would just bounce around the seat tube and I'd quickly notice it knocking into my leg. This is a really well-designed, well-made product to protect an expensive bit of Garmin kit (aren't they all?). I highly recommend it! BTW, the 'Brightness' and 'Battery life' rating categories on the Amazon review are not applicable to a silicone case!

Perfect fit. Good quality silicone case. Ignore the reviews from people fitting the case back to front! The cut out is for the light/radar lens and not the fitting on the back! Case gives peace of mind that the light is tethered to the bike in the event it becomes detached.

Neat and tidy. Fitted the radar unit very well and have a useful lanyard to ensure they stay connected to the bike. Has a little rubber door for access to the charge point. Well worth a try.

This silicone case fits the Garmin Varia RCT715 well without restricting any of the functions (radar, light, camera). It has a useful lug allowing a strap to attach and connect to the saddle rail. This is important to give assurance as I do not yet fully trust the Garmin seat post bracket connection to hold the unit in place whilst riding. However the strap supplied with the TUSITA case is of poor quality and I have thrown it away, using a Garmin strap instead. It is only the poor quality strap that stopped me from giving the TUSITA case the full 5 stars

Fits perfectly. Lanyard included has been criticised by others for not being the same as Garmin. The Garmin lanyard is twice the price of this item. Those critics need to get a grip on reality. See you next Tuesdays

Product arrived promptly & neatly fitted my RTL510. Includes a tether cord to attach to the loop on the case, to ensure retention to my bike if the RTL came loose from the mount. Very happy with the product & happy to recommend.
