Q: How strong are these compared to welding?

Depends on how heavy the product that you are exposing the connectors to/which to design? these connectors are an extremely tight fit when using 25x25x1.2mm Box Section (usually around 150-200kg load)

Q: What are the dimensions....I want to build a square frame with the third connector acting as a leg to stand off some tiles

Yes I built a stand in my shed and I'm 26stone and I stand on it regularly

Q: Are the connectors easy to remove, so anything you build can be dismantled.

They are not designed to assemble and dissemble many times (the plastic is a very tight fit. you will shav a layer of plastic off each time if you dissemble and reassemble so the connectors will become lose over time).
