Mine was about 4 inches and I am planning to use it long term. My first time using it, I had mixed feelings. Can't really tell if the mattress itself is firm or if thats the floor I'm feeling. Sleeping on it is firm, but it might be too firm for some people. I would imagine it would be perfect if it was 6 inches thick instead of 4 inches. It's definitely better than sleeping on the floor though. I slept great sleeping on my stomach. The second time I slept on it, I tried sleeping on my back. Both times I slept comfortably, but I did experience more back stiffness and shoulder pain when I woke up (when I sleep on my back, I end up sleeping on my sides from time to time). If you get this floor bed, I recommend getting thick quality pillows/body pillows to add a touch of softness and support to different parts of your body (like neck, shoulder, and hips). I wouldn't recommend sleeping on this as is.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Used it a few times for family and all can agree its better then sleeping on the floor or couch. Wish the mattress was a little thicker but its just as described.

Ima be fr, it's so comfy. I wake up in the morning n im just like dang this is so comfortable. I've always been a person that prefers things on the firmer side so this is literally perfect for me. Plus as a college student on my own. the price was affordable. When I opened the package I was worried the fabric was cheap or wtv, but honestly I love it.

I saw a lot of pretty bad reviews when I bought this so I figured I'd leave an honest good one. Took it out and it instantly expanded. It may not be 4 inches but that wasn't even something that concerned me so it wasn't make it or break it. I put it straight on the hard floor and it felt just fine. But we ended up putting a foam mattress topper under it and that is nice too. Just a little less firm. The bag it comes with seems to have a kind of flimsy zipper but it works fine just have to handle it with care. I like the mattress and for the price it's great. I gave it 4 stars because to be a 5 star mattress would mean it's perfect and that should not be expected from a cheap floor futon.

When I opened the bed, I thought it was thin. I thought there was no way this would be comfortable. I am pleasantly surprised! I have back problems and am in the middle of moving. I slept very well on this mattress. I normally sleep on a Tempur-pedic. Counter I recommend trying it.
