Very quiet , two speed powerful ducting fan
This cylindrical ducting fan fits snugly into a 4 inch ducting port on my laser engraver cabinet. While the cabinet is great for protecting the eyes while the laser engraver is running, my current home built venting solution is not very effective when working with plastic and foam, giving rise to a potential hazardous situation. The design of the Hose Vary is perfect and it is powerful at either speed to suck out the fumes from within the enclosure although the higher speed does a better job. Regardless of the speed this AC powered ducting fan is surprisingly quiet and very effective. The power chord is a short for my application but I adjusted by moving the power strip closer to the laser engraver. The rocker switch is very smooth and you can switch from off to high speed and off to low speed in the opposite direction making it easy to select the correct speed. At the venting end of the fan are two spring loaded flaps that close when the fan is not in use to prevent dirt and insects from entering into the enclosure using the vent pipe assembly.

Quiet operation, efficient air circulation
This fan is Perfect for smaller size grow tents. Keeps my microgreens growing worry free from Mold due to still air. The fan is quiet, but moves plenty of air, and has spring loaded doors that shut on the output side preventing insects from entering my tent. Highly Recommended this little fan!

Poor Quality
Motor cfm lower than advertised. Electric wire feed with on/off switch 12 inches long, to short. Shipped without kit,(duct hose clamps & tape) essentially wrong product.

lightweight, short cord, one flap fell off, base does not lock in place.
The Hose Vary 4 inch Duct Exhaust Fan is lightweight and easy to install, the base snaps into place easily but does not lock there so moving it can cause the base to fall off. It has nice flaps that close when the fan is not running, but after a few days of use one half of the flaps was laying on the floor. It does appear to snap right back in place but I just put it in a drawer as it seems likely it will fall off again. With it missing it doesn't really affect the usage of the fan so it is not a big deal. The power cord is short. About 3 feet and the switch is in the middle of the cord. That means you will likely have to use an extension cord and install the the fan somewhere you can access about the switch. Overall the Hose Vary 4 inch Duct Exhaust Fan is a decent fan but I would expect a bit higher quality for the price.

Exhausting printer fumes
I order this so I could exhaust printer fumes for my 3D printer. So far it is worked very well in maintaining the smell and doors as well as the fumes. It was very easy to connect and fit a 4-in hose perfectly. My only complaint is that the cord is incredibly short for what it is so pick up an extension cord.
