I believe that this is genuine Indian Brooke Bond Taj Mahal tea. It tastes not unlike the other popular Indian main-brand teas - Tata Gold and Premium and Brooke Bond Red Label. However, what a lot of people may have missed is that this is "out-of-date" tea. There is a market for vintage tea. It tends to be a bit less flavoursome than fresh tea, but with a maturity of its own. I think you'll pay more for fresh BB Taj tea.

Yes, it is past its Best-Before date, but has matured quite nicely, and will have a bit less "up-front" flavour than fresher tea.
