Nice and Affordable USB C Adapter for Additional Input/Output Audio and USB A Controls
The DriverGenius U3AU001 USB Type-C to 3.5mm Digital Audio Interface Adapter is a very small form factor aluminum plug and play device that plugs into a USB C port turning it into a 3.5 mm audio jack for both input and output of audio signals and a USB A port for your choice of USB A plugged accessories.Although designed for use mainly with laptops I plugged the device into one of the front USB C inputs on my Mac Studio. After plugging it in my Mac recognized the device and added "USB Audio Device" to both the output and input device lists for sound control. Both my wired headphones and my desk microphone worked through the 3.5 mm input on the DriverGenius U3AU001 USB Type-C to 3.5mm Digital Audio Interface Adapter.Further, with the DriverGenius U3AU001 USB Type-C to 3.5mm Digital Audio Interface Adapter plugged in I was able to plug an older USB A memory stick into the USB port on the device and the Mac again instantly recognized the stick, allowing me to read from, and write to, the stick without any difficulties. My only complaint is that the device's drive light did not light up with anything I did through the input or outputs. That doesn't effect the device's operability but just nags at my mind as it is supposed to be there yet isn't.All in all the is a very simple, yet elegant looking adapter that will extend the abilities of newer laptops and desktops that either do not have an audio outport, or whose audio outport is broken, to add that audio capability plus enable the use of USB A accessories if the machine does not include that older interface. The cost of the device is, at this time, under $10 yet looks like it would carry a heavier price tag. In my estimation, for the simplicity in which it performs its designated task and the sleek look of its manufacture the DriverGenius U3AU001 USB Type-C to 3.5mm Digital Audio Interface Adapter is a strong 4 star product.

Too short
The usb c plug on this is too short to use with any kind of phone case. It is a pain to have to take my phone out of the case to use this adapter.

Audio Adapter Compatible with Many Devices
This USB C audio adapter is a handy device to have around. It makes it easy to connect my USB-C MacBook or iPhone to external speakers. The stereo audio quality is great, so I don't have to worry about distortion or signal degradation. The adapter also has a 4-position TRRS 'headset with mic' support, which is great for making phone calls or recording audio. And it converts the USB-C port on my devices into a headphone jack, which means that I can use my existing headphones without any issues. The 1-port USB 3.0 hub that's integrated into the adapter is also a useful feature. I can connect my mouse, keyboard, or other USB 3.0 devices and there are no drivers needed. In terms of compatibility, I've used this adapter with my Windows machine, on my MacBook, and on my iPad, and it works perfectly on all of them.I would highly recommend this USB-C audio adapter to anyone who needs to connect their USB-C devices to external speakers or headphones.

It has some quirks...
The first thing that I want to make a point of is...that you get what you pay for. For $10 bucks you're not going to get a top of the line quality audio adapter. I mean... it's really not too bad for what you're paying for. However, this seems to be kind of like a "one tone" monotone type of adapter; despite in the title it says digital. If you have surround sound...you're not going to be able to hear all the different effects that you normally would get with a surround sound system. But it is going to amplify the sound, and make it sound better. But you're going to miss a lot of that digital quality that most people enjoy when they're watching a movie, or television. It's not hard to set up. And it does seem to have a little bit of an unstable build to it. But if I can get this thing to work for a couple of years, then I feel like I've gotten my money's worth. But if it lasts longer than that...then I say I hit the jackpot!

Charge your Phone and listen to music at the same time!
Sometimes you want to use earbuds and headphones, but you can't due to your phone being low on its charge. Well this nifty device allows me to still listen to music, podcasts, and talk radio and still charge my phone at the same time. The sound quality is decent, but I'm not an audiophile, so I can't really give you a low down on the sound stage for this digital-to-analog device. For me this product is a home run and recommend it to anybody who runs into the same problem that i always run into.

I'm using this with the newest ipad since the headphone jack is now gone from them
I ordered this so my child can use on my iPad and still listen with the headphones. They prefer the headphones to a bluetooth earbuds or something because the headphones gives a better sound fidelity when listening to opera. So, now they can use the standard headphones with the ipad. The only thing you need to do in iOS is to be sure to go into the settings and change the audio output to "USB audio Device" before it is recognized. Once you do that in the settings, this little adapter works fine. One of the other reviews mentioned it won't work with a a case, that might be true, I only have a very thin case on my ipad (more a cover than a case) so it works fine. All in all, i did what I ordered it to do, wish it were a bit more compact but it works!

great way to add usb-a port for usb-c only computers
This short adapter adds a usb type A port and a 3.5 mm jack to your device. The input is usb type C, so it works with most computers, like macs that come with only usb-c ports. The audio port is capable of having mic input as well as stereo out. This is a great adapter for people that got short chained by companies that took away usb-A ports. The usb-c port is short, so it will need to placed right against the body of the device, and some cases might interfere with full contact of the port.
