Badger Basket Modern Changing Table with 3 Baskets and Hamper Espresso

We got this for our baby boy's nursery about 3 weeks before he was born, so I was ready to pop. I would've gone into premature labor if I had to put this together by myself. Make sure you have a building buddy for this one. It is hard to put together by yourself, and the directions stink. It's beautiful in person, though. The color is accurate to the picture, and when you screw everything together right, its nice and sturdy. It's not too heavy either, so even mama can pick it up and move it.

The storage bins are very sturdy and make changing the baby super convenient! My baby does move around a lot though so the gaps in the sides are a bit annoying. She always manages to stick her arms or legs in there.

I've had this changing table for well over a year now and have grown to appreciate it. (My previous review is at the bottom of this update.)I originally rated this changing table a 1 star for the horribly designed railing at the top, wish it had a narrower opening or better yet no opening at all.I am actually going to purchase this table AGAIN, even though I am definitely NOT looking forward to the assembly as I remember being extremely frustrated during the process.PROS:This table is a comfortable height for both me and my husband. He's 5'11" and I'm 5'4". Neither of us need to bend or reach over while using it. My twins have grown and my back has never quite recovered from the 2 months of bed rest i spent in the hospital before i had them. It's wide enough to place our chunky wipey warming and still gives each baby enough room while being changed. Having the hamper saves me space in their super small room with 2 large cribs already in it. No need to take up precious floor space for dirty laundry, It's great that it's easily and quickly accessible. Both the drawer boxes and hamper are very spacious and each sit on its own shelf which help keep them sturdy and allows me to fill them with heavy items like lotions and wet wipes and they still slide in and out relatively easily. None of them have fallen over and they have maintained their shape very well. At first i was concerned with how little support there seems to be for a 20 lb baby, much less 30. My twins are a little over 25 lbs each and it has been able to handle both the weight and constant use. We go through a pack of diapers a day, so you can imagine how much use we've put into this thing.CONS:The railing design may be a possible hazard for little arms and legs, especially if a sleepy mommy or daddy is not paying attention. In the beginning I almost hurt one of them with my hips as they had slipped their little arms between the gaps. Which can probably be avoided if you buy one of those thicker changing pads. The paint is chipping in some areas. It can be easily pushed from side to side, i do not let the kids play around it as they could most likely weaken the stability of it. The table has always swayed slightly back and forth as i change a baby or if they are being more difficult and cranky, but nothing has broken and no one has fallen through. The assembly will most likely piss you off, so expect a few cuss words from your husband and just be supportive. I put this thing together my self and I'm glad i did, cause my husband has absolutely NO patience for something so frustrating.OVERALL:Quality could be better. Height is good. Space & Back saving. Plenty of storage. Possible safety issue.My Sept. 2014 Review:My premie twins' arms were constantly getting through the gap between the two bars and I almost didn't notice when I picked them up and nearly broke or dislocated their little arms. I had to place a thin blanket that wrapped around the gap to prevent any possible accidents and now I can use it with peace of mind. It was also very tricky to put together, the parts were a bit warped. I'm a first time mom and learning very quickly about what things I need to look out for.If I would of paid attention to the possible safety risk, I would not have purchased this product.

My husband just finished assembling this changer and here is what we've discovered:1. It's tricky to assemble. The "middle" wood bar is about a 1/4 - 1/2" off to one side, so if it turns out you accidentally swapped front to back, then you have to pretty much disassemble the whole thing to get it right. A bit of a nuisance. One of the wooden dowels used to help anchor it broke while we were taking it apart for the second time, too, which added to the frustration.2. The changing pad that it comes with is really thin. I mean REALLY thin. We had already purchased a changing pad (thinking we could use it on top of a dresser we inherited) and I'm glad we kept it. We are definitely using this one instead of the one it came with and I recommend you do the same if you make this purchase.3. It's not that tall. Perhaps I haven't stood by many changing tables, but if you are particularly talk folks, I'd recommend propping this up on some kind of block or something. Using the pad it came with, the baby would only be 30" off the floor, and using our purchased pad they're 33 1/2" off the floor. I'm 5'6" and that translates to about hip height.The baskets and hamper are really nice to have, though, and it seems sturdy enough. This is our first kid and I'm hoping it'll last through 1-2 more.

Product is well made. Had some damage done when I got it but nothing a marker can’t fix. Very easy to assemble, instructions were easy to read and follow. Four stars because of the damage product came with, would have given five if not for it.
