Lovely! Requires some good knife skills though.
I ordered this after reminiscing of the lovely Serrano ham I had in Spain on holiday. Serrano Ham is best enjoyed really thinly sliced and eaten on its own - it's not so much a meat you cook with but rather enjoy as tapas. (Although you can use it while cooking if you really want to). The flavour of Serrano ham is best when thinly sliced, the Spanish pass the intricate slicing skills down through generations. A good cut must be so thin you can read newspaper print through it. Unfortunately for me, I'm not very skilled with a knife, my attempts were either very thick or too small. If you plan to slice this by hand you should be good with a knife, it's a long and involved process that can be frustrating if you aren't good enough at cutting. This isn't helped by the poor quality stand, full Serrano Ham stands will be at a steeper angle, allowing you to cut down at a greater angle which is a lot easier. This is the only downside, but wasn't a problem as I will go on to explain... I have a friend with a Magimix meat slicer. This was brilliant because on the thinnest setting you can get beautiful slices that *are* so thin you can read news print through it! Once sliced up, the meat was exactly how I remembered on holiday. This is a lovely ham with a definitive flavour. The ham has been cured for 10 months! Overall I'm really pleased with this purchase, it's quite expensive but well worth it for such a high quality piece of meat. The stand was a bit of a let down, but ultimately I wasn't buying it for the stand but for the meat!

Inedible, sticky and wet meat with lingering smell of death
This jambon seemed like the perfect mother's day gift. However, upon its arrival, I soon found my mother drinking a large glass of wine to "get rid of the waxy bitumin-esque after taste", after having attempted to eat a peice of the meat, we dug a little deeper to find that it was saturated and wet with deliquesed fat, not dry as suggested on the description. This seems like its a mixed bag, but probs not for human consumption. As the bins have gone out this week the fam will have a little garden ceremony and say some words of the cadaver. Rip little piglet, you died for nought.

Highly recommended
Great value for money. When you first get the ham it's covered in a protective oil coating. There may be a slight smell, but it's not bad. Using a damp cloth, give the ham a gentle rub and it'll be ready to use. The top layer of meat is a little hard, so can be trimmed off slightly. Once setup on the stand it looks very professional - perfect to add a little class to any meal. The serrano jamon itself has a great concentrated flavour, just like what I've had in Spain before. The amount of fat is the perfect amount and can be trimmed a little to preference. The meat is excellent quality and there's a lot of it. The stand is the weakest part of the set, but it does the job to keep the ham in place. A small drill help make the screws a bit more secure, but it works just fine assembled with a screwdriver. There are two simple crosshead screws used to construct the stand. The included blade is sharp enough to cut the meat with relative easy (sharpen it a bit more for those really thin slices). Overall I'm extremely satisfied with this product and would happily buy it again. Great for any gathering and makes for a nice gift too.

Manageable Luxury
This is a small piece of boned Serrano ham, useful for those intimidated by the size of a full ham - ideal for a small family or as 'tapas' at a drinks party. A lot of thought has been given to packaging and presentation - the little ham comes with a miniature version of the traditional board, and a good cutting knife. The ham has a good flavour, and moistness, though mine split into two or three parts as I cut into it. I'd buy it again.

Awful, Dreadful Product
OK, so this is not an expensive product, yes actually quite cheap, but surely, still you should expect an edible product?? Well STOP, with this item you don't get one! I brought TWO as gifts for people who liked the ham I had, and BOTH tasted like BLUE CHEESE, I am being honest, 2 ordered on different days both even after being left open and even cut in half tasted DREADFUL, seriously if you like your ham to taste like blue cheese buy this brand, if you want a nice tasting ham AVOID like the PLAGUE

Tasty but difficult to cut
Very difficult to get a decent slice off but it is tasty ham. I've had whole legs in the past and they have been a lot easier to cut. It was a nice center piece to a buffet though

Falling apart, poor flavour. Disappointing.
I have purchased from this company every Christmas for the last couple of years and received a really nice piece of ham. This year I have received a piece with a number problems. The main one is that as shown in the picture after the first couple of slices it began to fall apart. It seem the air has got in to the cracks as well as much of the meat has the bitter, almost mouldy taste that is usually only associated with the outside of the ham. Very disappointed. I would contact the company direct to pass on my comments but I can't find any way to do so. If you are considering purchase I'd give it a miss this year... As per most other things of 2020 its not the best!!

Lovely ham, great size and lasts well.
Thought we'd treat ourselves for Christmas, and what a treat! The perfect size, and not having a bone to get in the way made it easy to slice. Other reviews have mentioned the fat - I didn't find it unduly fatty, and in fact this lends flavour to the meat. It simply got better and better as it aged and got drier. The board is cheap and flimsy - would benefit from a little oiling, but I suppose it does help keep the ham in place - just. The knife went straight in the bin - pointless (no pun intended). It's cheap and flimsy, and you're likely to do yourself harm using it. We used our own knife, and with a good sharp knife you can get a good thin slice. To the manufacturer I'd suggest not bothering to include such a cheap knife, and instead put a bit more thought into a better board.

Sehr schade!

I read several reviews before ordering and decided to give it a try. The ham came very well packed and sealed inside a plastic wrap. When I first opened it, it was "moist", but I followed advice from online sources, dried the fat moisture, covered it with a clean rag, and let it sit overnight. Once I did that, it started to cure, and it was great. Yes, as some reviewers noted, it is not the same quality as you would get in Spain, but it has a decent flavor, and for the price, it's pretty good. The provided knife and base were cheap, but they serve their purpose. Just think of them as disposables after you eat the ham. Overall, I am happy and will probably order again!
