Q: Where does the hydration sack go?

Inside the main compartment there is a sleeve/pouch for it.

Q: Is it possible to carry a sleeping bag?

It has 2 straps at the very top not sure if they are for a sleeping bag or a rolled mat. Hope that helps

Q: Any issues using it as cabin luggage? Is it a rigid 62cm high? Most airlines allow up to 55cm tall, don't they?

I've not tried to be honest. It is fairly sturdy, with a fairly rigid back piece, but would probably squash down a bit. I still think it might be a bit too long.
