Bland Yet Effective
I recently tried these HappyBaby Superfood Puffs (Kale & Spinach) with my baby for the first time. Since this product is suggested for crawling babies and is a processed food, I did wait until he turned nine months old to try this product. I am including a video to give you a clear idea of what the puff looks like and how he was able to pick it up and eat it himself. You will see from his reaction that these puffs did not rock his world, but he does like them. I tried a few myself and I can understand his mild reaction. The puff has the consistency of a rice cake and just a slight hint of kale/spinach. This makes sense given the HappyBaby description of "lightly dusted with organic fruit or vegetable powder." What I love about these/ why I will buy them again: 1. Convenience - whether entertaining him at his high chair while I prepare his meal or in the stroller while on the go, they are a nice clean snack that he can feed himself. 2. A healthy snack - Although the Amazon description lists "organic evaporated cane juice," that is not accurate for this specific product. The sweetener listed on the container is organic apple juice concentrate. I do not see any other sugars listed and there is no sodium. I believe this is a relatively healthy snack for my little one. 3. Safe for him to eat - I believe they are softer and easier for him to break down than Cheerios.

They are delicious
I bought these happy baby puffs for myself since I have stomach issues and I rather have healthier snacks and these are made for babies and toddlers and they are delicious and nutritious and healthy to the fact that adults can eat them as well. The happy baby puffs don’t contain gluten, they are made without cane syrup and no artificial sweeteners and no sugar. They are made with USDA organic white rice flour and organic brown rice flour, organic apple juice concentrate and vegetable and fruit powder and contain one gram of sugar from the natural fruits and vegetables and apple juice concentrate and they contain vitamins and minerals, they are crunchy but not hard and melt in in the mouth. The puffs are organic and the container contains 2.1oz (60 g) , it contains 40% more puffs than other puffs out there also non GMO. You get more than you expect and that’s good. I like that the happy baby puffs dissolve in the mouth fast and they are not fulfilling and I don’t feel full after eating them. I usually eat them as a snack and also I eat them for breakfast as a cereal 🥣 with warm almond milk 🥛 and honey and it’s delicious. You can get them for yourself or for your children or your grandchildren or for your nephews and nieces or for your elderly grandparents etc, this product is recommended for sure.

Great for early feeding, and good for continued backup snacks
I like the puffs because they pretty much melt in your mouth. This was a great starter snack for our kid because we didn't want something that could potentially get stuck in her throat. As you may or may not know, babies have a lot of saliva. So to know that this almost instantly turns into mush upon making contact with my child's mouth was a bit of a relief. Taste wise, they have a little bit of sweetness to it, but nothing too crazy. When the little one was younger, I would throw a couple on her high chair tray as an appetizer while I made the rest of her meal. It would keep her at bay for a few extra minutes and also teach her the concept of self feeding. She seems to like these a bit better than the green ones, maybe because of the slight berry flavor? Or because it's red? Not sure, but she does seem to like these better. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this because of the potential germs, but the hole size of the container is almost perfect for a toddler's hand and arm to go all the way in. So we have given our daughter the entire bottle in the past and let her self feed. Under supervision of course. Usually when it's near the end of the bottle. Just watch out in case she decides to flip it :)

Best snack ever
My toddler started on these as one of his first solid crunchy foods. He loves them! The can seems light, but lasts a surprisingly long time. The snacks are actually yummy and full of nutrients, opposed to a lot of grocery store snacks. They are also low on empty carbs, so every bite is a healthy one. Good thing too, as my toddler snacks on these in the car, on walks, in his stroller. I feel less worried about him choking on these than other foods due to the fact that they start to dissolve as soon as they hit his mouth, making them sticky and difficult to accidentally swallow.

Baby loves these - perfect for light snacking!
These puffs are the best on the go snack when we are taking baby somewhere and know he might need a distraction. We never use them as an actual meal or snack but they are great for keeping him happy during church services, on hikes, etc. We love that they are organic and use clean ingredients. Baby loves all the flavors! We highly recommend!

Nutritional value is "meh," but my kid loves these things
Like the title of my review says, these little puffs aren't much different from run-of-the-mill Cheerios in terms of their healthiness--though they are somewhat better--but our little man (15 months old as of this date) absolutely loves them. They are pretty unsubstantial, so he can snack away on them without fear of ruining his dinner appetite. Other things that I like: 1) They're organic. I don't know how many pesticide molecules are finding their way into a box of Cheerios, but my guess is not many! Still, I like that these are organic. Every little bit helps, right? 2) They dissolve very quickly so there's never any fear of choking no matter how many he stuffs in at once. 3) The container is more convenient that a box of cereal. 4) Like I said before, my son really enjoys these. In terms of health value, I find them to be similar to Cheerios. If you adjust for the weight or volume differences, comparing the nutritional information shows that the Cheerios have more vitamins and fiber, but also more sugar and sodium. Though none of these amounts are really significant concerns to me. For example, a half cup of Cheerios has .7g of Sugar while the HB Puffs have 0. Now for the one negative--the real kicker--and the reason why I am giving this very good product just 4 stars. Purchasing these from Amazon (6-pack, as of July 20, 2011) will cost you about $1.47/ounce. Purchasing a 14oz box of Cheerios from Amazon on the other hand is just 21 cents/oz. The HB Organic puffs are 7X more expensive! (And of course, getting a 19lb box at Costco changes the equation further). But unless you're giving your kid a ton of these, or you're feeding multiple kids, the price difference probably isn't a deal breaker. In conclusion, I'd try them both and see which your little sprout goes for. Can't really go wrong in either case.

Meets baby's approval, hence it met ours
Simply put, my daughter has decided to stuff as many as possible into her mouth at once, which signifies how much she enjoys the product. We also now need to teach her patience, slight portion control techniques ("One at a time, sweetie!" works fine, thankfully!), and taking one's time to enjoy their food. :) Here are our thoughts: 1) Lightly sweetened, when compared to other brands and flavors. In fact, I'm pretty sensitive to over-sweetened foods, and I likened these to regular Cheerios with a hint of sugar and other flavors. 2) I'm able to interpret the toughest of often-unpronouncable ingredients found in many "food" products these days, but that's just me since it has a tie to my current occupation. So, I was surprised at how simple and straightforward the ingredient list is; I'd encourage purchase of this organic product based upon that alone (assuming that the company is truthful in its advertising). Although our child appears to eat whatever is placed in front of her (this is her daddy's sense of adventure already poking through), I'm not worried about her getting enough greens into her developing body; however, if your child is fussy about veggies, this could be a nice substitute until you find a more creative way to blend in greens into the child's diet (current articles appear to lean more towards "trickery," "disguising," and "entertaining" the child when it comes to getting them to eat foods which we ordinarily would have had forced down our throats -so to speak- when we were little!). This product may partially solve that issue. 3) Like competitor brands, this product does "melt" into a newly teething baby's mouth within an appropriate amount of time whether it's chewed or sucked upon by the baby, rendering it less of a choking hazard if you're concerned about that as we once were. 4) The container itself contains more product per container than do its competitors, which is quite nice. Depending upon where you purchase a competitor brand, this one may be slightly higher per ounce, but it's worth it. We don't forsee a need to purchase another case until 1-2 months pass. 5) The containers themselves are rather durable. Unless your child is body-slamming it to the ground or you're stepping on it with all your weight, don't count on it shattering easily at all. Plus, it's conveniently recyclable, and the opening is not too flimsy and snaps closed well enough.

We didn't want to like these at first, but now we love them
My wife and I haven't been feeding our under-one-year-old gluten (due to my wife's gluten issues): we want to have a baseline first to see what his reactions to different foods are. The problem is that this makes his practice of his self-feeding and fine-motor skills quite difficult, as most finger foods contain wheat or are slippery (like fruit). We were on the fence about buying this product. It's organic, which is great, and gluten free, which is obviously great for our situation, and it contains less sugar than other comparable brands. But as we all know, this product really is just glorified rice puffs. Well, glorified rice puffs be darned, the boy loves them. And they give him a much-needed opportunity to practice his self-feeding and fine-motor skills PLUS the huge added benefit of less mess. Prior to this, pieces of banana were what he practiced on, but of course those stuck everywhere--to his face, to his clothes, to the high chair, to the floor, to the dog's fur, you name it. We love that we don't have to monitor for choking hazards as carefully with these puffs as we would with something like Cheerios, because these puffs melt in the mouth (my wife and I may have sampled one or two of these...). Also, these puffs have given us parents a nice break from spoon-feeding for a few moments while he learns to feed himself. Just this evening when company dropped by, he entertained himself by picking at a dozen of these puffs. (Sure, it took him approximately 22 minutes to eat the 12 puffs, and our friends wondered what was taking him so long, but it bought us some much needed catch-up socializing time with our friends.) Although we don't plan to give him these puffs often--we bought them primarily for road trips and social outings--we think he'll survive, despite the debatable nutritional content. Plus, everybody in the household stays sane, which is important, too. In sum, the whole family is happy with this purchase.
