Lomography's Sprocket Rocket
If you're considering the purchase of this product then you probably already know everything there is to know about it. You've probably seen many, many pictures which have been snapped with a camera just like this one, with the results proudly displayed on Lomography.comIt boasts a nice build quality and very simple function..... The one thing that makes this camera pretty unique is the ability to rewind the film while you're still shooting your roll. This gives you the ability to scroll back to a previous frame and take a double exposure, or if you want to get REALLY experimental you can advance the film whilst moving the camera to capture a HUGE panoramic shot.Okay so it's a 35mm camera which is dedicated to "sprocket hole" photography, this this respect it's a bit of a one trick pony... But it's one HELL of a neat trick!! It's true that you can modify almost ANY medium format camera to perform the same function, but this ready made solution is so much more elegantly done and takes a lot of the hassle out of converting your existing camera. The lens on the Lomography Sprocket Rocket is pretty damned wide and when this camera is paired with slide film (and cross processed) it's a killer combination! For the longest time: I was put off buying this camera because of the price tag (it ain't cheap for what it is!), but when the package arrived in the mail I finally understood how people justify the expense because not only does the Sprocket Rocket produce some fantastic photographs (when handled properly) the packaging the camera comes in makes it feel really special!! It's boxed in a presentation case made of extra chunky card and mounded plastic to make sure nothing shakes loose or rattles around in transit. The only down side is that it doesn't come with a shutter release cable, that would have made it the PERFECT package (in my view), but these are cheap enough (I recently bought one for £3 from my local camera shop).... As it stands, it's just PRETTY DAMN GOOD.In hindsight, I should have stopped worrying and agonizing over whether or not to buy the Sprocket Rocket.I should have just taken the plunge because in all honesty: This camera performs excellently, does exactly as it promises and doesn't disappoint.

Simple and fun
I write this review after using the camera for 5 months now.It looks great, kind of retro, but feels like what it is: cheap plastic. The quality is low, with a special mention to the lens: 2/3 of the image will be blur and distorted. For the price don't spect anything better. The aperture is so small (f10/f16) that you should use ISO400 on a sunny day or even ISO800, otherwise most of your pictures will be useless. Of course, forget about using it in interiors unless you have a flash, thanks to the fixed shutter (1/100, or Bulb). Also, be ready to take a bunch of accidental double exposures. You will forget to roll the film after taking a picture many times. Thankfully you may get some interesting results during the learning process. In summary: It's FANTASTIC :)For the price you have lots of fun. The lens is crap, yes, but the wide-angle effect is awesome, and the sprockets on the image look amazing. Also, yes, the aperture is small (f10/f16) which means you don't have to worry about focusing: Almost everything will be in focus.I particularly love how you have to think and consider each picture, something partially lost with digital photography.100% recommended.UPDATE: I forgot! Get a DigitaLIZA 35mm Scanning Mask as most developing stores don't provide a scanning service that include the sprockets. With this and a decent scanner (I would recommend the Epson Perfection V600 Home Photo Scanner), you'll be Okay. The scanning is a bit tricky, but there are plenty of tutorials about how to scan film with sprockets.

Not as shown in picture
When purchased the correct pictures were attached. However current pictures show the La Sardina. The sprocket rocket is an excellent camera however, but before you purchase check out development costs as you can not take full advantage of this camera without using specialist developers which can be expensive. The only reason ive given it 4stars rather than 5 is because of the current picture being wrong and misleading.

Love it!
After years of Contax cameras and Ziess lenses then going digital, I've suddenly remembered that I love taking photos. This super wide lens, panoramic format, sprocket holes in the pictures camera has given me a heck of a kick back in the right direction. It's back to the days waiting for the results in the post and the performance of this camera and the different films I've tried has put the unexpected and unpredictable back into my photography. This might not sound like fun to some but give it a go, it's not going to break the bank.If you need more convincing, try the lomography websites where there's plenty of example from these and other similar cameras.

Fun, fun, fun!
Great results PROVIDING you find a lab to process. Expensive too. So, I have a Canon 9000f scanner (£196 on Amazon) an I can now scan negs and prints with acceptable results. This reduces the costs significantly of working with film. The Sprocket takes great double exposure shots and is very simple to use and load film.. Also, a standard flash works too. Better results with 400 ISO film.
