This railing arrived in perfect condition--it was carefully packed prior to shipment. Wood quality was good, color was the same as it appeared on the Amazon website. The finish was satin smooth. Instructions for installation were very clear. It is important to note, however, that the brackets included with this railing have 3 holes for installation that are placed in a triangle configuration on the portion of the plate that will be attached to the wall. We needed to screw the brackets into the wall studs based on the type of wall we had. Unfortunately, our wall studs are only 1.25" wide and two of the holes on the bracket are 1 5/8" apart. Therefore, we had to purchase a different style of bracket from our local store. This was a not a deal breaker, but just something to keep in mind. Overall we are very satisified with this product.

Severely overpriced and poorly made. Rough and splintery texture

Overall the piece is very functional and easy to have installed. However the wood had a big gash in it (like a scrape mark - not a natural indentation in the wood. However, I really needed the railing, so I said “good enough.”

I needed to add a handrail to a staircase and was surprised to find a kit as a solution. This product worked great.The only issue I found is that the screw holes in the provided hardware brackets. They are right at 2" apart from each other in a triangle pattern. This puts one or more of the the pre drilled screw holes & screws outside the 1.75 diameter of the lumber inside the wall. You need to install the screws at a 45 deg angle to get them to hit the wood in the wall. If the vendors pre drilled holes were closer together, customers wouldn't need to install said screws at 45 deg angle.The kit does come with sheet rock fasteners I didn't use as these usually pull out of the sheet rock at some point.

I bought 6 foot and 8 foot railings. They are gorgeous and match my oak wood steps perfectly. Smooth hand grip all the way not like the metal ones I almost bought which have anchors that bolt above the railing which stop the hand from smoothly gliding along. Contractor installed it 36 inches above each step into the studs. He would have preferred better screws and anchors so brought his own. More expensive than metal railings but glad I spent the money.

I was iffy about buying the handrail without seeing it in person but ordered it anyway. I have to say the quality of the wood and the over all easy to mount in, I’m very please with it.
