Updated review
I have never updated a review. I want to in this case. This PC is awesome. I left a negative review. I want to change my review. I wish to state I I copied my first review and plan to paste it in at the end of this updated review. I no longer place blame on jack's shop or Minisforum. I now have had 3 PC's that failed because of Windows 11 updates. In each of those incidents this same thing occurred. As most of you know when installing a Windows update restarting the PC is part of the installation. My 3 PC's that got messed up all did the same thing. Windows update appeared to be installing normally during the shutting down phase. However, during the starting back up phase all I got was a black screen. So I now blame Microsoft. I read news yesterday. Many others besides myself has had the same thing happen. My advice is to use Windows 10 until this issue is resolved. Also many people have successfully installed this update I don't know how a person is to know in advance if their PC will install the update successfully. I do know nobody wants to deal with this. This was my original review: I connected it and used it for awhile (2 weeks) a short while then I was told Windows had an update. I thought sure update windows. The PC has never booted since. Before that update I used this PC and was so happy with it. When that update occurred I contacted Minisforum. They replied that I failed to update the BIOS. They were saying in a nutshell that it was my fault for not updating the BIOS. I had it only 2 weeks. I have updated a BIOS before. Straight out of the box it needs a BIOS update or it will crash because of Windows update. Really how was I to know it needed to have a BIOS update or Windows update will crash it. When it worked it was totally awesome. I am posting this to inform new buyers, the very first thing they should do is find out if they need to update the BIOS or they may have the same thing happen them. They sold me a Windows PC with a BIOS that can't handle a windows update. Then said it was my fault for not updating the BIOS. It wasn't my fault like they (Minisforum) says they sold me a new PC with a flawed BIOS. They didn't want to backup their product so they blamed me.

Purchased 4 miniPCs and all are unreliable
Purchased four of these devices to use for public access computers in a public library. The ability to mount them on the back of the monitors was about the only nice feature. One of the units died within a month. Within three months, a second unit reports a drive failure, and the other two lock up repeatedly throughout the day. I contacted Minisforum's customer service department as soon as the first unit failed. After trying a few solutions they provided, they said the unit was dead and offered for us to mail it to them at our expense for a replacement. After not hearing from them upon receipt of the dead unit, I contacted them asking for an update. They said that the model we had purchased was no longer in stock, and offered another unit with a larger SSD drive for a $35 upgrade fee. I checked their website and found that the upgrade they are offering costs $130 less than our dead unit. On paper these miniPCs look great, and they performed well for a few days. Now, they are destined to be some very expensive paperweights.

Love it!
I love this tiny pc. It is tiny but fast and powerful. Absolutely love this computer. Everything is just snappy. Update: I had a problem with the USB4 connection. My third monitor was working for three months and all of a sudden it stopped working. I contacted support and they helped me to resolve the problem. Then I realized that there were two USBC ports. One was labeled USB4 and the other just had a USBC symbol. I kept connecting the monitor to the symbol instead of the USB4 port. When I switched the connection to the USB4 port, the third monitor worked again. I was very embarrass to say the least. Total human error. Anyways, I emailed support and told them what happened and were happy that I resolved the problem. They were very patience with me. I would buy from then again.

Went all green screen.
I bought this in 1/2024. It worked well for a period of time. Approximately 10/2025, it went green screen and has never recovered. I have had it with an IT specialist for a couple of months now. He has tried a couple of fixes but no luck. He has tried to communicate with the company but they have not been very responsive. I was hoping this would work for the light duties expected of it. However, it appears that the company does not want to be helpful if their product goes bad. That is unfortunate. when it worked it was great. Just wish that it had worked longer than it did.

Excellent buy
I LOVE this little guy. I work in data processing field and this little computer is a gem! It boots fast, was inexpensive, and powers everything a home computer needs to without taking much space on my desk. I intended to run Ubuntu Linux as I though I was buying a machine with no operating system as the item description literally just said OS. I was pleasantly surprised to see it did come with a licensed copy of Windows 11, so now I dual-boot. NOTE to manufacturer: mentioning that might be a selling point. Setup is nothing just a few basic cables and though the BIOS is simple (if you're into messing around with those kinds of things), it's easy to use. I do wish there were a few more USB ports and a dual video card, but anther $30 on Amazon for accessories and I got a hub and a USB-C to 2 HDMI extender. It comes with some AMD accelerator software to make gaming better, but that's not what I use it for so have not tried it. Could not be happier! Actually want to buy about a dozen to upgrade my office.

Was never stable for gaming but completely unstable after adding an SSD.
To start off, to call this a gaming PC is laughable. Even when I first got it I was unable to play Skyrim at 1080p and get acceptable framerates without dropping the detail level down to medium and even then within half an hour it would CTD. It was however extremely fast for everything but gaming and in the benchmarks I ran I believe it scored in the top 13%, impressive. My major problems with this unit started a couple of months ago when I added an SSD for more storage. On the side of the unit that the hard drive goes into, there is zero cooling, zero vents and almost zero space. The PCB is double sided and the side that the CPU/GPU are on has all the cooling and the side that the memory and hard drives, 1xM.2 and 1xSSD, has no cooling at all. Adding an SSD rather than just upgrading to a larger M.2 was a big mistake. To be honest, I have not contacted their tech support team yet so my ranking for that is just a default 3 stars. I have done plenty of research, maybe something I should have done before I spent $800 on this unit, and what I found out is that the stability issues with this particular unit, the UM690, are well documented on Reddit and apparently the BIOS and the AMD drivers both play a big roll. In my case, I was also unlucky enough to get a model from before they started putting heat spreaders on the M.2 drive and memory. Right now I have the SSD drive sitting outside the unit and I ran some stress tests to find stable operating settings for the BIOS and it is back to running stable 24/7 as my DVR server. It is still worthless for gaming though.

Absolutely Amazing
For months, I looked at a TON of options for building a home theater PC – Intel NUC, BeeLink, MinisForum, Zotac, or even a custom build. What I wanted: - All the usual streaming stuff, in 4K with 5.1 surround sound - Ability to do some light gaming (Minecraft, emulators) - Silent operation (or at least very quiet) - Something without useless RGB lights all over it - Something affordable And based on those criteria, it came down to a choice between one of the BeeLink SER models or this MinisForum. At the time, Beelink had something like a 15 week backlog, so I went with this one and it is exceptionally good. Affordable, quiet, and extremely powerful for such a compact system. I can't recommend this option enough if you're looking for a "Living Room TV" type of setup.

Great value for money, really sweet taste product with a pinch of salt...
The item came in perfect condition despite the fact that the box had visible impacts on corners. (Thanks to the shock absorber inside the box it did not harm the unit.) The unit is surprisingly "heavy": Outside it is plastic, but inside it is metal - so that's the reason, which is a very good thing. And we know: "weight is sign of reliability". Right? So, the device itself is really good, except it is having a design flaw. But, in general it is great for slight gaming and gives outstanding performance on day-to-day tasks with so many programs running the same time. I expected that this little guy would be a lot less powerful on CPU and gaming. But, in reality, it outperforms the latest Ryzen 7 CPU by up to 5%. Woah! Compared to my older Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 Pro CPU-s it gives up 120 and 145% more power. And it fits in my hand. The cooling: It is not too loud, not too quiet. Depends on the configuration in BIOS and overall utilization, it can be like a relatively loud laptop or like a passive cooled laptop. In normal use with Balanced mode power plan, the cooler is less noisy than a super-quiet Seagate external USB3 HDD in plastic enclosure. It is good isn't? But, if I'm starting to play, it gives decent performance, but in cost of some noise. But, this noise is like a rain falling outside, instead of a noise we all know from bigger computers where coolers makes screaming and / or rumbling noise. So in my opinion it is amazing. The cooling solution for the CPU is absolutely great! It keeps the CPU cool under heavy loading but not makes me headache. There are two problem I have faced with this little box: The first is that I cloned my SSD to the NVMe SSD and I'm using the same stuffs I initially deployed around 2012... The Windows 10 updated (in-place upgrade) to Windows 11, but here I ran into the problem: If I SATA SSD along with the NVMe SSD, the system could not be rebooted, shutdown, sleep = The system will hang at the end of the procedure, no error will be generated. This is a driver incompatibility issue as I discovered, but not yet able to hunting it down. Yeah, mea-culpa! So, this is just a headsup if you wanted to buy this PC! The another problem is more interesting. The applied passive cooling for the internal NVMe SSD is applied in a bad way. The heatsink picking up heat from CPU from other side of the board through the holders of the heatsink. This could make the SSD very hot. Some manual tuning of the heatsink or removing and attaching another heatsink would be a solution. (I already contacted with MinisForum and sharing technical details and recommendation to fix this...) This is the reason for adding 4 stars only. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give 8.5. or even 9. (I would rate the competitors' devices even lower...) So, the decision is yours. So far I'm very happy with the device and using it since nearly a week ago. Every single days, up to 16 hours.
