The Official A Game of Thrones Colouring Book: Create stunning art based on your favourite characters and locations from A Song of Ice and Fire Paperback – 27 Oct. 2015

This book was my first go at the 'adult/therapeutic' colouring book trend- And it totally sold me on it. The illustrations seem to be based more on the book descriptions of characters than of the TV show, something I actually liked- The artists clearly had more freedom to interpret and create more interesting pictures rather than just copy the likeness of an actor completely. Even with owning a fair few books now, this is till objectively one of my favorites.I found the paper to be of fair quality, It was fairly thick and not overly shiny. Found no issue using both markers or pencils, although many pictures have very detailed parts and would be very difficult, if not impossible, to colour using even very fine felt pens. That said, I used promarkers for several pages with less detailed drawings and found the paper was thick enough for the colours not to bleed through to the next drawing on the page over (and if promarkers don't bleed, I doubt anything else will!)The illustrations themselves are beautiful, with a fair few being very intricate (I appreciated the challenge). They range from almost sketch looking to more defined lines, both were lovely to colour in (bold lines give a more vivid picture, but the sketch like ones looked lovely using blended shades). The drawings Include characters, some lovely location illustrations, house sigils and a few creatures from the GOT universe. Personally I would have liked to have seen a few more 'big' characters included, as the selection seems a little odd. They included Sansa and Cersei (My two favorite in the whole book, I'm a sucker for the GOT dresses), Loras in full armour, Khal Drogo, Melisandre, Varys and Daario Naharis. I would have loved to see some of Daenerys, although there is a particularly lovely picture of her dragons and the dragon eggs.For the price I payed (heck, even at full price) it's a fabulous item to own. Super lovely.

Felts at the ready!I've bought this Game of Thrones colouring book as a Christmas stocking filler for my daughter as she's a massive Game of Thrones fan plus she has completed a few of these adult type of colouring books so she should love this one!This is something a bit different for her to sink her fibre tipped pens and watercolours into. She loved 'colouring in' as a small child and is pretty good at it - not going over the lines and all that. I've uploaded a few photos to accompany the review just to give you a look inside to see if it's something you would like!What you get here is a nice looking book. The glossy cover depicts one of the prints from inside giving you an idea of what you can do with this as it is part coloured in and looks brilliant.The book measures 10 inches square and has 46 prints for you to colour. Each print is accompanied by an apt piece of text from the Game of Thrones books written by George R.R. Martin. The pages of the book are quite thick and to me feel to be of good quality.The prints in here depict all the things we love about Game of Thrones.- The coats of armour of the houses of Lannister - Stark - Baratheon - Tyrell - Tully - Martell - Greyjoy and of course Targaryen- Members of the houses such as Daario Naharis - Varys - Ser Loras (a lovely drawring) - Dothraki horselord - giants - castles - ships at sea - gardens - Jousting tournment and of course . . .Dragons! Plus much much more. The final picture is a cracker in my opinion which will look brilliant when finished.Some of the prints use a thick outline and there's a few that are so intricate that use a much finer outline which you will need a steady hand to complete, without . . .going over the lines!At the end you will find a short biography on the artists who have created the prints inside this book for you to colour. Quite interesting and the expertise involved in producing this colouring book shines through as you examine the drawrings inside.A lovely book full of great pictures for colouring and Game of Thrones fans alike. Highly recommended.

I bought this book for my nephew for Christmas as he is a big Game of Thrones fan, he is not really interested in colouring in but they will be spending time with me so I hope he will enjoy colouring in this book.It does seem complicated for a young child and would possibly be best suited to an older child or more suitable for adult colouring in as there is a lot of detail on some but not all of the drawings.I counted 45 illustrated pictures in black and white to colour in. I coloured in one as an example and I have taken photographs of part of the some of them to show you a rough idea of what they look like. On the left hand side of each page are words describing the picture from "A storm of swords", "A feast for crows", "A game of thrones", "A clash of kings" and "A dance with dragons". On the right hand side are the pictures. The pages are not perforated so you have to cut these out with ease if you plan to frame them at a later stage.Great Official Game of thrones colouring book by George R R Martin that I am sure will be popular with many people this Christmas and if it is not popular with my nephew - I will be sure to have fun colouring it in myself.I have added photographs for your convenience.

I should've ordered two of these, so I can colour it and have one in mint condition. Really nice and original artwork, which I haven't (yet) found scans of on internet. Every spred includes a picture on one page and a qoute from the book on the other.Includes major house sigils (Stark, Baratheon, Lannister etc) and castles and strongholds (Dragonstone, Winterfell, Redkeep etc). Theres few pages depicting events such as the Battle of Blackwater and Kingsmoot. Also includes characters such as Sansa (with Lady), Melisandre, Loras and Cersei (also in the cover). Doesn't include such major characters as Daenerys or Tyrion, nor any other major character that wasn't listed before.Some of the pictures look really rough, like they weren't finished.

Great designs, thick paper one sided pictures.

L'ho regalato ah una coppia di amici per Natale. E' arrivato in un lampo ed e' ancor più bello di come mi aspettassi. Se anche non venisse colorato, sarebbe comunque un libro stupendo da sfogliare ed ammirare, con disegni dettagliatissimi e carta di ottima fattura. Un acquisto favoloso.

Ich habe zwei davon, einmal die "Deutsche" und die "Englische" Version des Malbuchs (Bilder sind meines erachtens identisch, nur anders angeordnet)Das Buch beschäftigt einen ewig lange, und lässt viel Spiel für eigene Ideen. Viele kleine Details und klasse Skizzen sorgen für genug Raum um sich malerisch so richtig auszutoben.Links neben dem Bild ist jeweils ein dazu passendes Zitat aus den Büchern abgedruckt was ich super finde, da so kein neues Bild "versaut" wird sondern man ruhigen gewissens jedes Bild auf seiner extra Seite ausmalen kann.Ich liebe es und verschenke es gern an kreative oder gestresste (oder beides) Freunde die auch auf GoT stehen! Und jeder ist begeistert! :D

Had to have this, and a really good price. Graphics are fine, paper is good quality.

Beautiful! Note that this book is more ASOIAF inspired than GoT so you may not get images of your favorite characters but you will get some interesting and lush sketches as inspired by the books. Paper quality is good. I think color pencils should work well but I'm yet to try. At the current price the book is a steal and will keep you busy for hours.
