Q: Is there a charge for delivery to the highlands? Amazon says free delivery but product page states mainland only, even though we are!

As long as you are on the mainland, then delivery is free.

Q: please whats the width as i need about 58"

from the outside of each opposing pole the width is about 52". At the top there is an overhang of about 5 1/2" each side making the width at the top approx 63". NB. it is a good product but if you buy it assemble it on the ground. Putting in the screws even with a powered screwdriver is a nightmare

Q: what is the width of the wood at the base

Do you mean the diameter of the upright poles? If so, they are about 4 or 5 inches cross. The gap underneath the arch is at lest 2 1/2 feet. This is from memory, not actually going outside to measure. But the whole thing is quite sturdily made.

Q: I need to know the dimensions and weight of the box so that i can arrange my own delivery. 0lease advise

why bother as delivery is only 5
