Riedel Vinum Viognier/Chardonnay

Most prefer not to admit it but you can serve ordinary wine in a beautiful glass and guests will think it's wonderful. Serve beautiful wine in an ordinary glass and the wine will taste ordinary too. (It works on yourself too. I know you don't believe that :)Durable and sturdy? Not so much. They weren't made to be durable and sturdy. They were made to be beautiful.

I purchased ‘used’ open box at a reduced price and had them sent to a different address, as a gift. I was worried about the delivery and presentation but the recipient reported no issues and made a nice gift. The original box was still intact. So maybe I was lucky but have faith, it’s possible to get through mail. As for quality, the brand is my fav, and you should’ve seen the recipients old glasses.

Sturdy glassware that beautiful and utilitarian.

Have had Reidel Vinum wine glasses (different shapes) for nearly a decade. These have a clean simple appearance which has remained up to date and can be paired with both casual and elegant plate settings. The glasses are delicate and we wash these by hand; however, over the years a few have broken as result of being dropped on tile. Riedel keeps making these glasses so it is easy to replace a broken one with a matching shape and keep the set count the same. The Riedel box for the glasses is well designed to protect them and we received them undamaged in the shipment.

I work at a winery so I like to make sure my wine is in high class glasses. The Riedel glasses do not disappoint!I love how light weight they feel and how great they look in my hanging glass holder.Personally, I hand wash them and dry them with a very soft and thin towel to make sure they stay looking brand new!

I received the wrong product but I was fine with that. Instead of the Chardonnay/Viognier glasses, I received the Cabernet Sauvignon glasses. To be fully clear, I ordered these when they were quite cheap - so I did not feel the need to return these. Beyond that, the quality and glass is absolutely amazing. I love Riedel glasses. If you know how to take care of them, they will last a lifetime. Knock on wood, but I have yet to break one (I own more than 200 Riedel glasses). To wash them, I do wash them by hand (delicately). What I have found is that if you wash these right away after drinking alcohol in them, you run a higher risk of breaking these because alcohol makes the glass softer. If you wait the next day, you are less likely to break your glasses.

Great for whites, but I love for Reds. Especially when you want a smaller pour. Wider rim gives you plenty of the bouquet. Big enough to swirl.

one glass broke from a set of eight; what to do? Bless Amazon, the Reidel glasses I ordered (2) match the seven others, even though the varietal bame was not exactly the same.
