Perfect replacement for our old Triton T70i
Amazing how much you learn when you research a purchase on Amazon - so this review is an attempt to give back so to speak. We had an old Triton T70i shower which suddenly stopped passing water (sorry) and some online research identified that this was probably a failed solenoid, £15 to replace on the auction site that shall remain nameless. Or I could buy the Seville for £52. Since our T70i was 14 years old and used daily it was worth splashing out (sorry) on a new one. My decision was assisted by the fact that Amazon were offering a box-damaged one for £42. Received today on Prime delivery, and true to their word, it was just the box that was damaged, the shower unit is brand new and I was able to register the guarantee. It has taken me around 2 hours to install (half of which was spent undoing the compression joint on the old shower) and we now have a shower again, thank goodness. Some key points that may be helpful. a. The old T70i came in 7KW and 8KW variants. If you have the 7KW model, your wiring will probably be 6mm and your breaker 32A. Any replacement more powerful than 7.5KW requires 10mm wiring and 45A breaker. I could see my way to a new breaker, but not new wiring, so had to buy a 7.5KW shower b. Seville seems to be the only Triton available in low wattage AND this kit is very good value. The shower head bundled with the Seville alone costs £20 to buy separately and is far nicer than our old one. Lower wattage means lower energy bills so don't hanker after the 8.5KW-10.5KW models. The water flow on our new Seville is fine and hot, it seems a bit better than the T70i, I guess the extra 0.5KW makes a difference. c. The Seville unit footprint is a good match for the T70i except the top and bottom are curved rather than square, and the lower securing screw needs a new hole in the wall. The upper wall screw and the pipe connection are in the same place. I didn't even have to cut the mains wire like some other reviewers, was able to loop it and squash down under the cover. d. I did not try and fit the riser rail bundled with the Seville, from reading other reviews the fixing points might not be an exact match which is a bore. The hose fittings are standard so I was able to use my old riser rail and bracket with the new head, problem solved. e. You will need a new compression olive for the pipe connector, a wall plug for the new hole, and possibly a new compression nut if you mangle the old one like I did. Everything else in the box. This is not a trendy shower but it does the job with competence and is fantastic value. Well done Triton for making the old T70i so reliable, and for making the Seville low cost and backward compatible. Well done Amazon for accurate descriptions, excellent value and speedy delivery. Good luck....

easy to fit and I mean easy
INSTALLATION Wow, easy to fit and I mean easy, everything comes into the shower on the RH Bottom Corner and there is enough room for a large compression elbow and a chunky 10mm Twin & Earth Cable. Fixing screw one on the top and one half way down made it simple, the bottom half of the shower detaches to allow you to make off the Water and Electrical Connection, another BIG Plus. Strange but the outside cover had 4 small screws, one to each corner to hold the front cover on, I thought that could have been taken to 2 on the top and a clip in piece used for the bottom, save having to get down on your hands and knees to put screws into the bottom of the lid. NEGATIVES Like all things on this planet it would have been good had the electrical connection been above the water inlet, instead on the Other Side half way up, I was lucky that there was enough slack in my cable, others may not be so lucky! HOT WATER Run on Med setting in November, not great, warm at best Run on High setting in November, HOT and Great Flow, I love the handset, which really reduces the flow rate to produce a rip rubbing sensation like a shot blast. SUMMARY 5 Stars from a Company that could have invented the Electric Shower, they have been in the Industry that long. Love that there are no PCB's (printed circuit boards) such a problem and the COST of replacing a real drain on your pocket This is like buying a straight 4 cylinder engine with no engine management system, love it. Parts readily available and if required a Service Engineer can be supplied without breaking the Bank Just ordered 3 more for our other Apartment rentals at http://holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/cardiff/307424 Mr Spence Eng

Good basic shower and easy to install
Replaced a Redring (8.5kW) shower that lasted 13 years, so I can't complain about that. I would have ordered a Redring again, but the models are a bit bigger and would not have fit in width. I decided to go for a basic version of the Triton (at 9.5 kW) as I do not really need the sophistication of some models. Just on and off, hot, less hot and cold. This has been in place for a couple of weeks and seems fine. An electrician installed it (same guy that installed the Redring) and it was basically "like for like" so slotted in nicely. Some minor adjustment to the feeding water pipe. I went for the 9.5kW version and glad i did, the water pressure here is pretty good so I get agood pressure and can get it very hot, ready for winter. Only caveats are: The Eco setting won't be any good really as it doesn't get warm unless the flow is really low. I don't know what power it is. I am not worried about that though. Also, it says it's noise level is 15dB; I don't know what distance that is measured at (with audio, it is normally 2 metres), but that is whisper quiet. This hums, but not particularly loudly, but it's greater than 15dB. I thought it might be mine, but a friend also has this model and that is the same. Not a problem really. So yes, very good basic shower and good value for money. If it last a a couple of years or more I will be very happy
