This is a great watch, that hits nearly all my frustrations with earlier Casio watches I own (AMW-320R and WVA-M640). While I still have a couple peeves (below), this watch is a definite keeper and will become my main day-wear timepiece. Appearance: It's a great looking watch that very nicely splits the difference of being equally at home in the wild outdoors and in the office. Unlike far too many sport watches, it tastefully includes a boatload of features without over-cluttering the dial. I wouldn't wear it in a formal setting, but I consider it a great choice anywhere from the beach or the campground to the office and smart-casual environments. Size: Not as large as most Pro-Trek or G-shock watches (the latter of which I consider mostly ghastly), but still on the chonky side. See first photo above, which is on a 7 1/4" wrist. The band has holes that should work from probably a 6" to 8" circumference, although I think the watch body would be too big for a less-than-7" wrist. It is too large to fit under the cuff of more than half of my long-sleeve shirts though. I'm adapting by using a steel-spring collar expander on those cuffs -- you'll have to decide whether that look is tolerable for your sense of style or not. Features: I love the accuracy of an "atomic" radio-sync watch. I live in a part of Atlanta that seems to have issues with radio reception, so timepieces syncing to WWVB has been challenging in the past. Not so this watch, which has synced reliably every night. This is the good season for reception, so we'll see how it does throughout the year. The watch face is super-readable in a wide range of brightness due to the contrast between the orange hands and the dark background. The lume is only so-so, and I find it stays readable in complete dark for maybe 15-30 minutes (I'm being generous here); however, the dual-LED backlight means that both the analog and digital displays are easy to read with the illumination. I like how the buttons integrate into the basic silhouette of the watch rather than protruding as they do in so many watches. With knurled surfaces, they're easy to push, although it's easy to mistakenly grip the diagonal buttons when pressing one, with unexpected consequences until you learn to avoid that mistake. The screw-down crown was the feature I didn't know I needed -- being able to advance and reverse through many settings rather than endlessly pushing buttons is amazing. To be honest, I don't know how much I'll use the triple sensor features of barometer/altimeter, temperature, and compass. As others have noted, the temperature readout is worthless if you're wearing the watch as body heat distorts the reading. Barometric pressure is absolute pressure, not the corrected-to-sea-level pressure your weather station will report, but you can correct that if you want. The compass, I think, is reasonably accurate though I don't have a good way to validate it. The one feature that is utterly worthless is the alarms (a gripe I've had with all my Casios, but this one is worse than the others). The alarm is just too quiet. It's somewhat audible in a quiet room if the watch is sitting on a hard surface, but the signal generator must be on the back, and if I'm wearing the watch my skin dampens the vibration to the point that it's nearly inaudible, particularly if there is ANY other sound in the room. Combine with the fact that the alarms (including countdown timer) sound for only 10 seconds and both the timer and alarm features are functionally unusable. I honestly don't know why Casio hasn't fixed this. Others have remarked on the fragility of the mineral-glass crystal. I, too, find this disappointing (my old AMW-320R has a similar crystal and it's definitely scratched). However, the tempered glass screen-protector-like add-ons available on Amazon fit well on the completely-flat crystal and do not protrude beyond the bezel, so I think they're a good investment in a watch I plan to keep a long time. DURABILITY UPDATE: I am sorry to discover that the dark finish on the bezel is far less durable than I would have hoped. The other day I had to reach under my car to retrieve a dropped item, and my watch brushed VERY LIGHTLY against the concrete floor of my garage. This gentle brush was sufficient to scratch through the finish to the underlying steel, as you can see in the third picture attached. Clearly the "Ion plated bezel" is actually a very thin and disappointingly delicate color layer that is overly sensitive to dings and scratches. Bottom line, I DO expect to keep this watch a long time, as the positives far outweigh the negatives. UPDATE ON ACCURACY: I just traveled to a location where I spent 13 days unable to sync the watch to a WWVB signal. During this entire time I monitored (but did not adjust) my watch against the GPS time. In 13 days the watch seems to have gained approximately 1/4 second max. If my extrapolation is correct, un-synced this watch is accurate to less than one second a month, which is impressive by any decent standard.
