The Whiny Whale: A Story About Having a Positive Attitude (Latter Day Kids Picture Books)

I love these stories! The Whiny Whale is such a great way to teach kids about why work works without being preachy at all. I love how the whale coach says, I'll do my part, will you do your best? And some whales do, and some whales, well, one whale!, doesn't, and at the end it doesn't go on to over-explain why, it just shows the whiny whale realizing his mistake and then trying again. Perfect story for kids (and grown-ups!) alike.

I have loved the Latter Day kids videos for a few years now. The content is so engaging that my kids will ask for a scripture video before bed. The Whiny Whale happens to be a crowd favorite around here and they LOVED seeing the movie as a book too. Great content & well put together. Highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. This is such a cute book with great pictures and an important message! It is perfect for my 3 year old and he loves the video that goes with it! A QR code takes you straight to the video.

Love the lessons it teaches in a way the little humans can understand.

We have loved the simple lessons from watching Latter Day Kids videos weekly...and they have transitioned perfectly into storybooks! My 6-yo is especially loving these (we've read them in bed, at snack time & in the bath), but my 4-yo & 8-yo adore them as well! A great series to add to your own book collection, or a quality gift all parents/kids will appreciate. Great discussion points at the end to keep the conversation going.(I received a copy of this book from the publisher and I’m reviewing it voluntarily.)

We have watched and loved Latter-day Kids ever since they started. We were so excited to hear they were adding some books in addition to all the other content they’ve created. We absolutely love the colors, message and quality of this story and so does our 1.5 year old!

Great character/life building skills. We love Latter Day Kids in our home. Our children know their products immediately when they see them. So beautifully and simply done. Our children are always engaged and love their books and videos.

I just wish there was a little more story telling involved. This reads like a parable (which may be the point) but I'd enjoy it more if the whales had more personality or at least names. Or if there was a reason they wanted to be fast....Also, if you have a whiny toddler this is more about whiny big kids who don't want to work hard, not whiny toddlers who want to be in charge -just as a heads up. Overall, my son loves it though so three stars
