Does the job. Why pay more?
Neighbors just spent ~2-3K on an installed whole House Unit. We've got decent City water so I don't mind taking showers or washing cloths/dishes with it. Just don't want to drink it. This little unit gives me a gallon of sweet pure/contaminate free water (in ~3-4 hours), with little fuss, guaranteed, for a fraction of expensive Systems they'll try and sell you. Get you one. You won't regret it.

Water tastes good.
So far it's working well. Time to distill is accurate. Fan is not super loud, but not quiet either. I put it in another room and crack the door as it heats up the room quite a bit. I'm not using the plastic collection container as my main goal is to reduce micro plastics. I use a glass carafe to collect the distilled water. The tip of this machine has a compartment to insert a small charcoal filter packet. I don't do this and the water still tastes fine. There was a slight metal taste during the first 3 runs, but it has gone away. I'm sure there was a little metal residue in the coil that needed to be washed out. The distiller seems well built and made to last. The water tastes like distilled water from the store, but without any plastic jug flavor. In my opinion, the glass carafe replacement for this device could be cheaper. I haven't cleaned it yet because it doesn't get very dirty. I leave a little water left over in the main tank so I can rinse it out easily. It has an auto off switch once the tank is empty. The price for this device was fair.

VEVOR is a quality brand! A+ distiller
My first one i purchased was in 2023, and it has overly exceeded my expectations and still working great (white one on the right). Even as you can see the sediment buildup inside which i rarely clean out, water comes out perfect. The black one i bought as a backup a year later because I've been so used to nothing lasting i wanted to have extra on hand. Well orginal is still working great and now use both of them for efficiency. I have saved so much money not buying jugs at the store anymore, I figured within the first 6 months I got my money's worth from the machine. Only thing is make sure you have everything lined up when it's running. Or no cats being jerks moving your water jug slightly to have it spill everywhere instead of into the jug. That is the only issue I've had and highly recommend the VEVOR brand. Actually because of the quality I've purchased other VEVOR products. So hard to find quality brands anymore and VEVOR gets an A+ from me

buy this now, impressive & great quality machine!
buy this distiller with confidence and please don't hesitate! I am only sorry I waited while doubting the quality and lower price because this replaces my distiller of 15 years that has been having issues the last several years and the mega brand was the only (similar) one around back then. distillers heat up so naturally they do give off heat, therefore i like to run mostly at night in warm weather, and run during daytime in colder weather. this is also very noticeably quieter- it's a white noise that may not bother some but if you're on the spectrum or easily overstimulated by any noise this is a major plus for me. this starts brewing water after only 30 minutes vs 60 min of the other brand, and it's done in 4 hours vs 6 hours of other brand so I could not be more impressed (the suggestion for putting in hotter water speeds process is true, but I'd never use hot water from a tank water heater because they are seriously gross inside- please look it up!) the lid nozzle is metal not plastic like my previous one, and it's so easy to remove for changing the carbon filter which also fits better inside it while my previous one was a literal struggle to remove and barely stuff a filter in- and it also fits well into the pitcher without the straw/tube. distiller is lighter weight and easier to move around for cleaning. lid has handle and pulls up easier. the lid gasket is doubled and perhaps why it works more efficiently- underneath gasket has been a chore to clean in the past so I'll update anything in the future, otherwise cleaning has been a breeze. I've used a plug-in timer all these years and continue for a shut off prior to it running out of water because the sediment does start to burn on bottom making it much harder to clean and will stain permanently from past experience, but on this model you do have to push the start button manually each time to start meaning it will not come on automatically for timer- I specifically did not get the digital model because I learned with past appliances that if you have a power surge it will cut unit off and not come back on, but it seems that this will have that same drawback so it's probably easier to just buy the digital model in this case for daily programing- that would be a small complaint to Vevor of inconvenience, but I'll gladly accept it for the other positives because now it will certainly be easier to do 2 brews a day now when I go through water quickly. my BIG complaint is the pitcher spout is not "pinched" enough so it is nearly impossible to pour without dripping or downright spilling, you have to be slow & intentional, and I took the rubber bottom off because cleaning up water all the time it's just annoying- never a problem with mega's pitcher. I noticed a lot of complaints that it is slightly smaller than listed or a previous pitcher, I can confirm it is smaller than my last one, even though it actually looks bigger it definitely holds less. tip for putting handle on: I just put between my bare legs to stabilize and they screwed in easily... so far, fingers crossed! a note to cleaning: when emptying base there was always a drip that would settle into the crack at top where inside/outside meet on base unit and caused my previous one to rust/blister, not sure if this one would but I will be diligent in wiping this area to try to prevent. I put vinegar in base and let sit with lid on for a bit and it cleans easily, then pour vinegar in a small jar and reuse a few times. my last distiller went cross country in an RV, it's great to have consistent healthy water and not waste plastic or lug containers no matter where you are, and especially now back in FL where water is always sedimenty- I now feel like I have an upgrade after 15 years instead of a downgrade- so far love this and hope it lasts!

Easier to use than you might think.
I won't deny I was a little intimidated when I saw the size of this thing and opened it up out of the box with really no idea how to use it but it really took me only about 5 minutes before I had it running and I used it three times in a row in the same day just with a 15 or 20 minute break in between to let the coils cool down the fans have a break. At first I thought I had made a mistake by buying something that was going to occupy so much in my countertop space but then I realized I could use it multiple times in a row and then put it away and store the distilled water for another day and I'm happy with my purchase day one three cycles of 3L which each rendered 3Q which is very little loss, I'm a happy plant dad, and I know my plants will be tickled green to not have to soak up all the chemicals that come from the Dallas water supply and they'll be living longer and healthier than ever. 2 years ago I lost 40 air plants by using city water I won't make that mistake again. 5 out of 5 would recommend. And it's not that big, takes up about as much room as a juicer.
