Sheaffer Calligraphy Maxi 3 Fountain Pen with 3 Nib Gift Set

I bought this after visiting amazon looking for ink refills for a Sheaffer Calligraphy kit I bought 15 years ago and which I use for writing cards on Birthdays and at Christmas. A pack of ten refill cartridges would have cost me £10 while I got this whole set for £9.99. This set contains twenty refill cartridges (which is what I was looking for) as well as three pens, an instruction book and a small pad of paper, so I effectively got the three pens and the paper and ten extra cartridges for free. What's not to like. For a beginner this would be an ideal set to try out calligraphy to see if you would like it before committing maybe more money and starting off a new hobby. The pens are not great quality but they do feel nice in my hand and the nibs seem to write well. The nib sizes are roughly 1mm, 2mm and 3mm italic nibs. A tip when you throw away the packaging - there are ten cartridges on the front of the packaging and ten more on the back where you can't see them.

Seeing it's plastic it's firm in the hand and feels good

Pen is lightweight and the ink flows easily.Would be useful for children. Good value.

When I first inserted the cartridge the nib gave out more ink than it should. However it has settled down now and a nice easy writer. The nib is more medium fine than just fine. Overall, quite happy with it.

Pen smooth to write with , broad nib . Weight of pen comfortable. Ink flows smoothly . Perfect gift . Would recommend especially for those who write with ink pens 😊

I tried to write 3 Christmas cards with this pen and every time I lifted the pen off the paper and put it back on it took several sevonds to restart the ink! Regret this purchase seriously poor quality and cannot use really.Having said that it work better on some surfaces e.g on the inside of food packaging ( white card )

As soon as I opened the packaging and put the cartridge into the pen it worked. The broad nib is perfect for calligraphy. It came with two cartridges when I have used them both I may buy a cartridge converter so I can use ink to refill it. It has a nice feel to it when in use.

Unfortunately this pen is rubbish. The ink does not run smoothly. Only half of the letter comes out which means that you have to go over it again, which you just cannot do if attempting calligraphy! Very surprised as it is a Sheaffer pen. Being returned. Don't waste your money.
