As with many garden games, Mölkky is a great opportunity to have a bit of fun, and always makes any outdoor get together a little bit more interesting. At first glance it might look like garden skittles, but there's no ball; you throw the Mölkky (a cylindrical lump of wood) at the pins. The things that make Mölkky quite unique (in my experience) is: - It's very easy to set up. - The rules are simple. Knock over one pin, you get its point score. Knock over more than one, you score the number of pins you knock over. - The play field changes as the game is played. As pins are knocked over and around, you stand them up wherever they land, for the next player. - There's strategy. You need to get to 50 points exactly to win. Go over 50 points, you go back to 25. So you need to think about the layout and how to manipulate it to benefit yourself and mess up other players. So whatever you do can influence the overall game. - Anyone can play, and you can have any number of players. This particular set is weighty and sturdy, including the crate. Buy one, it'll last you for life.

Saw a family play this and was intrigued - they invited me to join them and I was hooked! Simple concept of throwing a bit of wood at wooden numbered skittles and first to exact 50 score wins. Sounds easy but it gets very competitive and strategic. Great on grass or the beach in a handy carry box to keep in your boot! Perfect for all ages. Download the app to keep score too. If you like the sound of leather on willow you will like this gentle knocking noise as the skittles fall!! Enjoy!

Could be made with harder wood as it dents very easily, even after just one game. Great game though. Love the storage box. Well thought through. Great fun for all ages.

Perfect game for the garden, park or beach. The only problem you will encounter, is that your grass will take a beating, as you play this game over and over again. Very easy game to set up and play, rules are included in the set. There are plenty of score cards also included, however for those that like an easier life. The Mölkky game tracker app can be downloaded, to easily keep track of everyone's score. A must have for anyone that likes an outdoor game. A great game to help children understand tactics of what pin or pins to knock over, with the inclusion of maths without them realising they are calculating what to do or attempting to do next. A simply fantastic game.
