Q: Is the sticky side the same colour as the non sticky side?

It is normally unless it states grey back vinyl.

Q: I want to stick it to the back ogf a fish tank for a white background when the backing is peeled of is it white as that is the side that will be seen

yes the adhesive side is white as well, but make sure you buy the white vinyl

Q: Is it see through or quite thick?

No it is quite thick and pliable and is in a bottom cupboard of my kitchen where all the dog paraphenalia is and I drag boxes over it and it is standing up to it well.

Q: Can this vinyl be used on pvc foam board, i.e will the solvent adhesive melt into the board?

Yes it can, foamex, Perspex banner material
