Pregnancy relief, TBC for labour!
I decided to purchase rather than rent a TENS machine because I'm suffering with pregnancy related sciatica and have used TENS for previous muscular injury rehab. The order was delivered super quickly and the product is very well packaged with clear instructions. It's great to have on hand to relieve sciatica symptoms and I'm hoping that it will prove to be a great buy for labour too based on the reviews I've read on amazon and elsewhere for this product. Very easy to operate and the handheld unit makes it really easy to continue moving around while using it.

Highly recommended - labour survival tool
I was induced with a hormone pessary as my waters had broken with no contractions. I honestly would not have survived the contractions and pain without this machine. I had taken paracetamol an hour after induction and wasn't able to have any stronger pain relief as there were no available beds on labour ward. As a result I had to manage the pain for 10 hours before a bed was available and I could get an epidural. For the 2 hours prior to getting an epidural I was given gas and air, but by this point I was so exhausted that I was unable to coordinate my breathing to gain any benefit from it. The Tens got me through every contraction alongside counterpressure applied by my husband. It is without doubt one of the best purchases I made throughout my pregnancy and I would recommend this to anyone who is planning on having a vaginal delivery (even if you want a water birth, as it is difficult to predict whether this will truly be possible). I have also continued to use this for lower back pain following the delivery which has been really helpful to aiding my recovery. In summary my advice is that this is worth every penny and if you are not keen on purchasing it, you can hire it on the babycare website.

Used for third baby
I bought this because I was having a lot of anxiety about giving birth to my third baby. For babies one and two I used gas and air. Contractions are intense and can take over your body at times so I wanted something more to help me cope during the early stages of labour. I had convinced myself I would be asking for an epidural this time (as I had built up so much anxiety for the months before birth). I put the tens machine on about half an hour into contractions and immediately felt relief for every contraction using the boost button. I didn’t have that same fear of waiting for the next contraction as I found them more manageable. When I got to the hospital I was 5cm dilated and still found the contractions manageable using boost. I then had gas and air together with the tens machine and breathed through the rest of my contractions until I was ready to push. I didn’t find it beneficial for pushing stage! Not sure if this was because baby was big and back to back or because pushing is a different kind of pain/experience. It was attached to my back for about 5 hours total and never moved and batteries didn’t run out. One of my best purchases!

Best product ever! Will make your Labour easier
I have a very LOW tolerance to pain. I can't stand any amount of pain and therefore I was TERRIFIED of my Labour . I went into labour early so I didn't even get a chance to try this out before . Once my Labour stared my pain was too much to handle so I quickly took this out and tried it . The BEST product I have EVER bought !!!! If you are scared of ur Labour pains or you know you will be screaming the hospital down then buy this . I am going to let my sisters borrow this because it worked so so so well for me. Without this I don't think I could have survived my Labour pains . You stick the pads onto your back and when your contraction comes you press the button. I would always have it on high but one my contractions got worse towards the end I put it on the highest . It gives this electric buzz feeling into your back which helps to handle the pain you feel in your stomach from the contractions . It can work as a distraction but for me it worked more than just a distraction , it almost helped to num my contraction pain but you are feeling such an unusual buzzing in your back that it does divert your bodies attention more to the buzz feeling you get . I will definitely be using this for my next Labour. It's pricey but worth every single penny and I thank whoever invented these .

My wife used only this for pain relief during labour and she delivered our baby girl without needing an epidural. She used it for 4 hours without it running out of battery. We recommend the TENS machine strongly.

It was a pretty good option of pain relief for the early stage of my labour. Honestly I am not really sure if it worked or was just a distraction from the contractions, but anyway it did it’s job. Once contractions get more intense it will not do any miracles obviously. But giving 4 stars as it is easy to use and helped me through the early stage.
