Gorilla Sports Fitness Equipment Lat Attachment for Universal Workstation, Lat Accessories

I bought the Gorilla sports universal bench and this was an extra thirty quid, the bench was good, so a month down the road I though why not have a punt. I read other reviews and despite the one and two star ones parted with my readies! The item turned up a couple of days later, There were assembly instructions which wernt really required, all I had to do was screw a rubber bump stop to the bottom of the slide, drop the slide down the upright, put the two halves of the cable guard together either side of the pulley with the cable running through it and put the bolt through the top, two spring clips and job done! It is designed to fit the Gorilla Sports universal bench, it is not a universal fitment for all benches, which some people have adversely commented on, it`s a bit of home gym equipment, it`s not commercial gym quality kit, if you are likely to abuse it then it wont last, but I look after my kit and so far its doing everything I expect of it, it does need a squirt of silicon lube on the slide now and again, but then I usually give all the moving parts of the bench a squirt of wd 40 once a month anyway. The post does move slightly once it is in the socket on the bench, but I don't find that a problem, it is locked in place with a pin so providing you have made sure the pin is in the hole it is secure. Once you have weight on it and are exercising it doesn't move so you would notice, bear in mind that it is designed to do lat pulldown and tricep pushdown, try doing anything else you're asking for trouble in my opinion! I bought a tricep rope attachment for mine, only because I prefer that to the straight bar, it`s a spring clip so no issue. All in all, it is a fairly robust attachment for the money (£ 30) that I think would last if looked after and if used for the appropriate exercises, If you dick with it or try fitting a close grip row handle and start pulling at 45 % it`s going to hurt you one way or another!

Poor construction. Base of post not substantial enough to stop it moving around in the bench attachment. Feels like it could topple at any moment. Steer clear!

You get what you pay for. Given the price I was expecting some problems and took the word 'Universal' too literally as it fits neither a York or Men's Health bench. Nothing a hack-saw and a metal drill-bit couldn't fix though so after about 30-40 minutes of adjustments, I have made this suit my purpose. However, it is pretty cheap and nasty stuff; hence the low price. Low quality pulley and wheel system - needs oil; the only solid part is the bar itself and the pull down lat handle is not too bad to be fair. Just be careful of what you are attempting this add this to as you may find the tool box coming into play. Also, it cannot handle too much weight either. One plus to mention was the superb delivery - quick and kept updated with comms throughout so not all bad.

Bought this to add to our home gym, we have a Maximuscle bench & this fits perfect. Instructions are pretty clear and easy to follow you just need a couple of spanners to install the pulley wheel.The product is sturdy and well built, over all a good piece of equipment. In operation it has a smooth action and a little silicon spray made the return smooth and friction free.We had a broken part but this was very swiftly dealt with by their customer service department and the new parts arrived in a couple of days. There was no hassle about sending parts out or none of this rubbish of having to send the whole lot back. So 5 stars for the product and 5 stars for the customer service department. Certainly would buy again from Gorilla with confidence.

My weld failed within couple months with only half the weight they list it will take.had issues with the plastic glider dragging.had to keep lubing it wd40.had it welded but still cracked above the weld.I did try to return item but wouldn’t let me.very disappointed with purchase.would have been nice to have a replacement pulley to see if it was a one off.
