Q: Can the strap be removed and changed out for a leather one?

It should be possible but it might be difficult. If you examine the side of the watch where the strap is fixed you will see tiny holes - there are 4, one at each 'corner' of the watch. You need a very thin but rigid rod (less than 1mm diameter) to push into the hole and compress the spring in the rod which holds the strap in place. You might need to push rods from both sides - then the trap with its pivot rod should come off. Be very careful not to lose the sprung rod. This is a very common means to affix a strap, but you might be best to take it to a watch repairer if you were unsure that you could do it.

No it doesn't scratch easily . I have owned several style of this watch since 1984 , unless you are careless and contact a wall ,

Q: Has anyone any idea what is best to use,to change the analogue time as the button is set deep into the side of the watch.

Nails, end of ballpoint pen, unfolded paper clip. I prefer to use corner of my nail. By the way it's a good solution to set the button deep. Otherwise it could be pressed accidentally. Analog watch can be adjusted only forward, therefore to set the right time back I would have to rotate the watch almost 12 hours forward.
