Bulldog BUL5TSAM All Steel Trenching Shovel

A great trenching spade, heavier for penetrating harder earth and sharper for cutting through roots at depth. An effective handle to blade angle design to give more leverage. Managed to dig a 35m trench, a blade width wide and 65cm deep.

I use mine every single day, shifting often pretty heavy clay. It’s held up for over a year to all the abuse I can throw at it, and is really comfortable to use. Bad tools don’t last long in my job. It’s a little under a metre long so some people might find it a little short, but I’ve never had an issue, and I’m a little over 6’. Being steel, it isn’t what you might call lightweight, but I’d rather that than yet another snapped handle. I’ve had to stop coworkers pinching it - everyone that’s tried it loves it. This is a trenching shovel - it combines the bent neck of a shovel with a head the size of spade and a cutting edge. If you’re looking for something purely to shift loose material, this isn’t what you want. If you want something for digging that can also shift a bit of loose, this is ideal.

Very sturdy garden spade, but not the lightest as a result. When you have garden soil which is full of flint and chalk though, this is the tool!

Head was a littler smaller than expected, otherwise another grand bit of gear

I use this shovel every day it can’t be beaten there light, strong And not to wise good for hand mixing digging clay almost as good as a grafter for the hard ground . Bang on can’t beat a bulldog shovel hand down

No need to applicate much power, heaviness gravity make easier if you need digging 😀

It's a shovel, I can dig with it and it hasn't broken yet. What more can anyone ask for.

I had a garden fork from this brand (a previous owner left behind in my new home). Bought this one now … are just great, solid and proper British solid product.
