Well built and good performing lens - ideal for Architectural & Urbex photography
I'm neither a professional photographer, or serious hobbyist when it comes' to photography, but I bought this after researching on many forums the best lens for architectural photography and urbex, in anticipation for a trip to Chernobyl. I shortlisted the Sigma, Tamron and a couple of others, I also looked at buying used lenses or hiring them, the 2nd hand cost of these is not far from cost when new, and the prohibitive cost of hiring (especially since the area is a bit of an unknown) made buying this an easy decision. This lens generally seems to cost the same from most retailers, but I prefer to buy from Amazon given their service. In most reviews this lens seems to beat the others on the market, comes highly recommended and is well priced in comparison to Nikon's alternative. It's well built, nicely finished and the autofocus motor is nice and quiet, it comes with a soft case, petal lens hood and lens caps too - although I invested in a UV filter to protect the lens surface from scratches. Worth mentioning if you haven't used this type of lens before, it's worth researching how to use it and how to get the best pictures before you take the plunge, I can get some reasonable results despite being (almost) a novice. I use this on a Nikon D5300 with absolutely no issues, and good results, it now lives on my camera instead of the kit lens supplied.

Great quality landscape photogrpahy lens at a reasonable price
I purchased this lens for use with a Nikon D3300 and have found it comes out with great results. The Nikon D3300 has a crop sensor, which results in a somewhat frustratingly limited angle of photos taken with the kit lens. This lens mitigates the limitations of the camera and kit lens for those on a budget, offering a high quality build with fantastic wide angle results. Build: The lens is quite heavy, but is of good build quality. The components don't feel cheap as you would find with kit lenses, and the rings move smoothly without too much give. Autofocus is fast, and almost perfectly silent. Image Quality: With any wide angle lens, there is some distortion- but for landscape photography this lens is unrivalled at this price point. Definitely 5 stars.

I cannot stress how good I find this lens
I cannot stress how good I find this lens, I have got it fitted to a full frame camera, however it is very easy to frame your shot for DX format with the grid through the view finder. It does give stunning results, and a "weird" perspective that makes going to your old haunts a joy to see what you can come up with. The only niggle that I found was if you use a shoulder sling and not a neck strap, if you walk along with the camera just hanging there, the Auto focus/manual button on the side of the lens can easily get switched from AF to M. Thats the only thing I have had a slight issue with. For the money its a great lens. See attached photos from my first outing .

Great lens but did trick my cameras exposure meter.
Great lens for the price, I needed something to attach to my D3200 as I shoot a lot of London Graffiti. Some of these pieces are huge and there is not a lot of room to stand back at some sites. It feels well made, for me the F/3.5 is fast enough for what I shoot with it, and I don't need it to create significant bokeh. If you do then you might need a faster lens so think on that before buying this one. My only issue that I have found is that for some reason this lens played havoc with the D3200 exposure. I don't get this with any other lens on this camera, even in changeable light. But in reasonably constant overcast daylight I was changing between +/- 1.3 stops of exposure compensation which was unexpected. So keep an eye on your histogram if you do shoot with this lens is my only comment of concern. It is more likely the operator of course but I will need to shoot a little more with it first to know. Excellent lens
I've had this lens for a few months now and I have to say it is excellent. Autofocus is very quiet and pin sharp. I have taken some fabulous landscape shots with it plus used it for a wedding shoot. Great value for money. 13/08/2017 This lens will not autofocus with a Nikon D5500 after the firmware is updated in the camera body. Gutted!

Inconsistent in my experience.
I don't know what to say about this lens...it has great features, is brilliant for beginner photographers but for myself, the result has been very inconsistent. I would like to think it is not down to user error, I have been taking pictures for a long time and have used many different lenses, however, this was the first ultra wide angle lens I have bought, purely to see if I actually had any use for the focal length. I have to start by saying the build quality is great on the outside, a really nice robust feeling lens with a great weight to it that makes it feel like pro level lens. The focal length ring is a step up from your average kit lens providing a fairly smooth action with a similar performance from the focusing ring. The HSM motor is really quiet and is pretty quick, I have had no problems with it (the focusing meter window is a nice feature to have). The lens cap provided is a bit fiddly to actually click into place securely and has fallen off a couple of times whilst moving around. I don't always use it anyway so it's not a huge issue for me. Now to the most disappointing part of my experience. The image quality with the lens. Inconsistent and a let down is all I can say. I do not know if this is a universal problem with this lens or if my particular unit is faulty or if it's just down to the infamous inconsistent Sigma quality control. The edges are soft and lack detail almost all of the time. In some cases the edges can only be described as a horrible car crash of blurry unsharp colours that in no way represent what the camera was pointing at. This unfortunately has bled over to almost a 1/3 of the left hand side of an image on a couple of occasions. Small detail, like leaves on a tree, in the corners generally create poor results in the image. For the most part the centre of the frame has always been sharp enough but nothing to write home about and whats the point of having all of this space in the frame if the edges are a blurry mess. I have yet to have a chance to set the camera up in a perfect scenario with perfect lighting and ideal conditions with a subject that is perfectly still and has no small details to see if the lens performs better. I know you wouldn't necessarily pick this lens to take candid photos at an event, or to shoot group photography and that most people who buy this lens will be looking at it for mostly landscape photography, however, sometimes on a group portrait shoot I would like to create a more extreme wide angle look and really change the perspective the shot is taken at but I just could not rely on this lens to perform whilst doing that. I didn't really want a lens that I can only reliably use on a tripod. Sometimes when I am out walking I want to hand hold to grab some quick shots but I cant rely on this lens to do that. I know this is pretty much the cheapest UWA lens money can buy for a DSLR camera and I did expect a bit of sharpness fall off towards the edges and corners, especially at 10mm, but it has really made me lose faith in lenses within this price range especially made by Sigma. I would say most kit lenses are more reliable and consistent than my experience with this lens and would encourage people to maybe consider the Tokina which is a bit more expensive but has better reviews.

Excellent quality lens
Great build quality great picture quality but heavy after a while on 10mm can get a massive amount of land on every shot. Auto focus is fast and silent

Excellent lens.
I haven't yet spent nearly enough time with this lens, but initial impressions are it's sharp, low distortion, fast and very, very wide. And solidly built which, truthfully, I wasn't expecting from Sigma - past experience! Should prove a challenging lens to use, which is the fun and joy of photography.
