Bring music to your life
I've been learning guitar this year on a Rockburn electric guitar which has been great fun but in many of the videos online (which is how I'm learning guitar - seriously, check out the number of first class guitar teachers have posted easy to learn lessons on there, YouTube is such an incredible resource) the teacher is using an acoustic guitar, something I've not used since I was a teen and had a cheap Argos knockoff with plastic strings. So I decided to buy a proper guitar, not too cheap, not too expensive, and this Yamaha F370 Natural model was my choice - and I made the right one! It's light but not insubstantial. It's smooth and looks well built - the neck especially looks very sleek, strong, and well made. Playing it is a huge difference to playing an electric guitar, the sound of the acoustic is so much richer and deeper. Songs like Green Day's "Time of Your Life", the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood", and Tom Petty's "Free-falling" all sound different on acoustic, and so much better. One of my favourite things to do these summer nights is sit on my balcony and knock out the songs I've learnt into the night - for some reason the guitar sounds better in the open air. For anyone getting serious about their guitar playing, this is an inexpensive and well made, great sounding guitar that I highly recommend. I love playing it and the music coming from it is awesome, you can hear every string in every chord perfectly. NB. There are 20 frets not 21 as noted in the product description.

Absolutely Outstanding Quality and Tone For The Price
Nobody beats Yamaha in this price range. I have many friends who own F370s and F310s. The F370 is described as a "beginner's" guitar because it has a slightly shorter scale length, which is utter nonsense. There are far more expensive, high-end guitars with short-scale lengths. I wanted a budget guitar that does the business and is easy to play as I bang out songs and strum for long periods of time during performances. I also own a gorgeous high-end Takamine but for a working guitar, I prefer the Yamaha F370. The neck is to die for, particularly for strumming and almost as effortless to play as some of my electric guitars. I actually like the laminate top as it's not so affected by temperatures when I'm out and about in Winter and less prone to cracking. Don't be fooled by the detractors; the tone on these F370s is spot on. I find it sounds best with .012 gauge strings and if you need to fit a pickup, don't mess about and permanently install a "Fishman Neo D Humbucker Sound Hole Pickup". I use it with an external active DI Box or a pre-amp box. I go to events with other players who pay fortunes for electro-acoustics and they all want to know how I get the sound and tone that I do with the F370 when plugged in with the Fishman pickup. I think of it as my "secret weapon" for events and if I ever had to replace it I'd be 100% sure to buy another F370. amazing instruments for the money.

Great beginner guitar
I am a beginner level guitar player and my guitar teacher recommended a Yamaha to replace my 20 year old guitar I was using that was going out of tune quickly and very hard to play. Got a second hand F370 on here but it came with all original packaging looking brand new and instantly I could feel the improvement vs my old one. Playing is SO much easier and less painful on the fingers. The sound is a bit "buzzy" but a lot clearer than my previous one even the other students have noticed the improved volume and sound. I got the black one and it's stunning - looks very cool. For some reason it came without the Yamaha bag which was listed in the product description so I got in contact directly with Yamaha customer service who sent me a new bag within 2 weeks. Pretty chuffed with overall experience with customer service and also the quality of guitar and would recommend this to any beginner!

Great guitar but flimsy packaging
This is an outstanding guitar for a beginner and I am absolutely delighted with it. Has a very clear and ringing sound, and a nice finish to the body. On the other hand I was underwhelmed to see it arrive in a flimsy card box and only paper wrapped around it (and this was the OEM's packaging too). So, the first one I received I had to send back since the guitar had been damaged before or during transit. A perfect replacement was sent soon after, I'm pleased to say. But would have been better to have had proper packaging in the first place!

An attractive, quality starter guitar
I started to attempt to play guitar in late 1994 and didn't quite make much progress, with a cheaper Encore acoustic. I found this a little buzzy on the high notes. Sometime in around 2004 I attempt to kick-start my learning and traded that for an electro-acoustic (make not well known) and also never got round to buying an amp. That guitar looked better but didn't sound better so ultimately I gave up, as my attempts at playing reduced to an average of once every six months. However my interest in music has been re-ignited, both from a listening perspective and now from a learn to playing perspective. So I thought I would try again. Not wanting to make the same mistake with buying too cheaply this time I though I would start by something that was a little bit further up the quality and price scale but without going over the top (my playing is not up to a top end guitar). Reading reviews I almost bought the Yamaha F310, for added insurance I plumped for the more expensive F370. In black it looks the business and also sounds better than anything I had bought before (even to my ear). I've had it for a week now and am averaging an hour a day. With the aide of You Tube I am also beginning to pick material up related to playing my kind of music much easier pre-Internet days back in 1994. So, the quality of the guitar is at the level I wanted, it looks good enough to be on a stand in the living room and I am certainly enjoying thrashing out some chords and a little bit of picking on it. Who knows I might actually get somewhere this time round!

Oh what a beauty this is. Great fit and finish. Feels like an expensive guitar. Good to hold in hands for a heavy 6 ft guy. A worthy investement even if you're not playing it. It'll absolutely add to your decor (just kidding, please do try to learn). Is a beautiful piece of visual art made for the musical art!
