Beginner Sheet Music For Alto Sax: 60 Easy Alto Sax Scores For Beginner Adults & Kids

I got this for my 11 year old son, he told me it wasn’t the right one he needed for band class, but he likes if. I played the sax for many years, so went off of my knowledge and thought it was perfect for a beginner. If he fails to utilize it, I will.. since my sax skills have got rusty, since high school.

I am a beginner adult sax player and I was hopeful that this book would provide some familiar songs for me to play. There are several great ones, but I was surprised how many of them are in keys with 3-4 sharps or 4-5 flats. Since I hadn’t learned many of those notes yet, I had to set the book aside until I had advanced in my studies.

Great beginner book

I should have returned it! Songs written in keys with 4 or 5 sharps or flats are not for beginners! The description of this book is very misleading! My saxophone teacher said it was way above beginner level. Do not buy this if you’re a student!!

I'm trying to get back into the sax again after almost 40 years and was looking for something simple to get my chops back up. Most of the songs in this book are in keys with numerous sharps and flats, with 8th and 16th notes few beginners would be able to play well. It should be labeled as an intermediate book instead. A lot of fun songs to play, though.

I think someone just transposed these songs written in easier keys for other instruments. These are not for beginners.
