Tamiya 14044 Yamaha Virago XV1000 1:12 Motorbike Model Kit

This is the first scale model I've tried my hand at since I was 12yrs old. Illness kept me doing little else. Very enjoyable to put together and lots of detail to hold my interest. I've learned a lot! About 10 Tamiya Paints were used and some clear gloss Windsor and Newton laquer. I used metallic black from Humbrol to match the bike I took my Direct Access test on in the 1990s. Revell pro glue was worrh the extra.Really nicely made kit, far better than my modelling skills.

A lot of fine details, but the fit is great, parts don't need much cleaning and looks fantastic when finished kit includes metal springs for rear suspension and vinyl hose for detailing spark plugs wires, brake and clutch lines I didn't even need to use airbrush on this one, its very easy to paint with just a brush Tamiya bike models are really the best quality I had

I hadn't made any motorcycle kits for years but I had a fancy to try this one and I wasn't disappointed. There was no flash and the parts fitted very well although due to my age I found one or two parts a bit fiddley. (I'm 68) but overall a great tamiya kit and good value for money. Highly recommend!

Nice well made kit looks great when finished

The kit arrived very promptly, in fact ahead of the expected day. The kit was well packaged and undamaged. As expected with a Tamiya kit it was of good quality and fitted together well, lots of detail and very realistic.

The Tamiya Yamaha Virago XV1000 is a very fun bike to build its not as difficult to build like some of the more expensive ones so would recommend buying the cheaper Tamiya bikes like this one before moving on to more expensive models. It comes with loads of chrome parts which can be turned to gold using a clear yellow Tamiya paint. Its very cool building the engine and attaching the chrome parts. Would recommend to new and experience bike model builders.

Another excellent kit! Detail is superb and all the parts fit as they should. If your a modeller or a novice this kit will give you massive pleasure. For the price you can't go wrong. Make sure you remove the chrome coating where you need to glue together as the coating will stop the glue from working. For a modeller that usually builds 1/16 kits of mainly tanks and large ships this kit was a welcome distraction and a pleasure to build. Tamia quality comes through again.

Ein schönes Modell, gut zusammenbaubar und eine sehr genaue Anleitung mit Bildern, die man manchmal SEHR genau anschauen muss. Ich habe außer beim Tank und der seitlichen Verkleidung auf zusätzliche Farbe verzichtet, was dem Endergebnis m.E. aber keinen Abbruch tut. Ich habe außer der Virago auch die Ninja gebaut, vom gleichen Hersteller, und bin auch hier mit dem Gesamtpaket sehr zufrieden :-)

Tamiya makes great motorcycle kits. They have car model kits as well. It needs other tools. It is adviced to check all the tools. Once you one there is no going back. Good hobby and great satisfaction one completed.
