Amazing hand held tool!
I love this tool, I’ve had one for years which was given to me for a present. I misplaced it and had to order another as can’t live without it. I bought some for my daughter, also my Gardner loved them so much he got one not just for gardening but sheering his few sheep that he has. Good for topiary or just trimming and cutting back the blades are very sharp and cut through small woody stems easily. Much better than secateurs. Luckily found the ones I lost after a couple of days really good to have a spare pair. Couldn’t live without them.

One handed clipping
I have double handed hedge clippers, I have a petrol driven hedge clipper; these tools are two handed. And are used for heavier cutting. For lighter, more focussed jobs the Jakoti are a single handed tool which means one hand can grasp the material to be cut whilst the other hand can use the shears. They are spring loaded and one can happily clip away. They seem to be very sharp. they can easily deal with ornamental grasses and not snag: they cut clean. I trimmed a privet bush and they happily dealt with the tips. I have used them to cut back dead herbaceous materials and they are a great tool due to the one hand operation. I cut through some leather that was at least 3mm thick and it produced a very clean line. I have not tested them on thicker stems lest I mis-align the scissor action: I would use secateurs. They are not a replacement for hedge clippers or secateurs; they are part of an "arsenal" of tools to tame the garden. No idea what they are like on sheep!

Always sharp
Fantastic bit of kit. Great for deadheading or reshaping lavender and other bushes or perennials after flowering.

Good garden tool
These are ideal for many tidying jobs and handle all grassy, perennial and light shrubs. Work well ans easy on the hands. Wouldn't try to prune heavier bulky rose bushes or trees but that's not what I got them for (I have secateurs for that).

Great tool for cutting Sheep’s Wool Loft Insulation
Having tried (and failed) to easily trim sheep’s wool loft insulation with various knives, kitchen scissors and garden shears, I looked for an alternative. These shears do the job perfectly! With one-handed operation, your other hand can steady the insulation. Recommended.

Easy to use
Excellent hand shears, mostly used for trimming topiary. There's a small catch that can be pushed right back to stop it slipping down into the locked position. Easy to maintain, described as self sharpening. I haven't had to sharpen them yet. After using I wipe them down and then use a second cloth with a little oil (actually been using olive oil) on it to stop them going rusty. Would recommend.

Fab Tool for a Variety of Garden Tasks
I've had my jakotis for several years and bought some as a present - they are brilliant at cutting swathes of plant stems when deadheading, topiarising, clipping hedges etc. Comfort wise they are fine but can give you a bit of a blister with prolonged use in one session. This is a minor drawback and might not apply to all and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair if I had to. They are self sharpening but I do give them a clean to remove resin (usually weak bleach) and a quick sharpen with a sharpening stone each year just as maintenance. They have a volute spring which fits snugly to the grips that hold it so less likely to get lost unlike with some secateurs. Great shears!
