Essential for Diagnostic Imaging... not so sure for Therapists
I am a first year student, and this book comes with me everywhere. To the gym when I'm on the treadmill or to University when I can quickly flick through it's pages. Some customers have 'complained' that they received a 'ring bound' copy of this book, whilst personally I would have preferred it! Ring bound sits flat on a table or treadmill etc. I received the traditionally bound version, and it feels premium; pages are just the right thickness and the cover is suitably glossy and easily wiped down clean. Content wise, well, I cannot give an exhaustive review because I am a first year student. However, I have observed that a lot of the content is not 'so well suited' for students of Therapeutic Radiography, though it is utterly indispensable for Diagnostic Radiographers. Our university has physical and digital copies of this in their library, and I would suggest prospective buyers check yours' first to see whether most of the content is worth your purchase or not. As a DI radiography student, I feel this book will serve me well over my years at university and at placements. There is a much more expensive, extensive version of this book, which I have managed to loan from my library, however am happy that I purchased this 'handbook' version first. Regards the 'bound' and 'ring bound' versions, I wish each were available as separate SKUs so that customers could choose; it seems like each version would suit some more than others.

If you’re studying radiography you will need this!
This was on the recommended reading list for my radiography degree, I put off buying any books for as long as possible as I didn’t want to end up with loads I didn’t ever look at. This book is fantastic, it gives you positions, centring points and any other information you need to successfully take an image e.g. if the patient needs to have arrested inspiration, if they need to tilt their head and what should be included within the collimated area. I HIGHLY recommend any future students buy this book asap and start familiarising themselves with the terminology if the front of the book and abbreviations in the back. Also before any practical sessions have a read through the projections you’ll be covering and you’ll have a clear idea of what you’re supposed to be doing. The pocket part of this is definitely accurate, it fits easily in my tunic pocket and isn’t heavy to carry around.

Great for radiographers and students
This is a great book for radiographers especially students. If you have an x-ray to take and forget how to do it this pocket book shows you in how to do it. Pros - Pocket size Has a list of x-rays you need to perform Can carry around with you on placement Cons - Keep it safe unless you want a radiographer to steal it haha. Not every x-ray on there but the main ones are Definitely a purchase that you should make if you're a student or even a qualified radiographer.

Very Good for 1st Year Diagnostic Imaging Students
I did use this to supplement my notes on various projections. I also like it better than Ruth Sutherland's and Calum Thomson's Pocketbook of Radiographic Positioning. It is organised better and supplied more information that I was looking for. None of these will give you a full account on positioning. This pocketbook is however, a very good resource for first years. Handy to keep with you during clinical. Once you get beyond 1st year, you will find this pretty basic.

A MUST!!
This pocket handbook fits in your pocket so you can get it out and have a flick through if unsure etc. Has a lot of detailed information on how to position and even what the image needs to show for it to be diagnostically acceptable! Great buy!
